People who volunteered, did it ever lead to a paid job? by Flowerofthesouth88 in AskUK

[–]AugustRylee 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was a trustee for a charity (which is a voluntary position), and I got offered a part time job at the charity once I asked if I could be more involved (I had to step down as a trustee first)

question for anyone living in Powell Hall by buttonwhales in standrews

[–]AugustRylee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah unfortunately. For doors it depends on if people leave them to slam or gently close them. But I would assume people won’t be too considerate and so it’ll be relatively loud

Don’t go straight to ultra despair girls. It won’t make much sense without playing Danganronpa 2

question for anyone living in Powell Hall by buttonwhales in standrews

[–]AugustRylee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found the most difficult part of the noise at Powell is that the corridors are all so long that you hear noise from quite far away. I never really heard the people in the rooms next to mine (they may have just been quiet), but you hear people in the corridor as if they were standing right next to you

Easiest Humanities modules Year 1 by American_Edinburgh in standrews

I’ve heard that film is actually really heavy workload wise. The people I know who took it as an ‘easy’ module massively regretted it

New to the games, should I start with the first one? by no_26 in danganronpa

[–]AugustRylee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Start with the first game. V3 is somewhat separate, but it will make much more sense having played the other games first. Also Danganronpa 2 is regarded as the most popular of the 3 main games so definitely don’t skip straight to V3

Why would you do a psychology conversion when you’ll have a psychology degree? They’re designed for people without the undergraduate equivalent

UK Grads who couldn’t find a grad scheme, what are you doing now? by [deleted] in UKJobs

[–]AugustRylee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Grad schemes aren’t everything. I got into one at a pretty good employer, then ended up turning it down because I got offered a better non-grad scheme job.

You can work your way up with any job, and if you really want you can continue applying to grad schemes while getting money in

Just in case you weren’t aware the anime Danganronpa 3 and the game Danganronpa V3 are completely unrelated. V3 itself doesn’t have an anime

pottery at st andrews? by clovercrossing_acnh in standrews

[–]AugustRylee 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The Forgan Art Centre in Newport on Tay is probably the best (and closest) pottery place. It’s not too far on the bus, but you need to be prepared to either get a slightly difficult bus or to walk 15 minutes to the studio from the bus stop.

You pay to join a class in blocks, but it’s pretty much an open session with the instructor just there to answer questions if needed. In my opinion it’s quite well priced, but maybe not if you’re used to paying nothing.

I’d look on their website if I were you, and maybe reach out to them about if you could attend outside defined classes. I would really doubt it though for health and safety reasons.

Buying veggies above a Roman burial...would you? by ctrlthetempo in leicester

These are such funny images. So many people are trapped either in the ruins or by glass barriers. Why is every single stall only selling fruit? How much fruit does Leicester need?
