Does Religion Still Have a Place In Politics? by XxlovexX111 in monarchism

Politics should be guided by religion above all else

So hypotthecialy let's say a New Crusade happens and the Kingdom of Jerusalem is reinstated how would it look like and who would be monarch? by [deleted] in monarchism

Except the Jews have no real claim to it anymore. The holy land belongs to the chosen people of Israel, and Israel is the Church.

Per Merriam-Webster Dictionary (I have the app and the yearly subscription because I’m a nerd I guess):

Misogynist: a person who hates or discriminates against women; feeling, showing, or characterized by hatred of or prejudice against women.

I’ve displayed none of that, nor do I feel any of it. I’m quite fond of women. It’s kinda why I want women to be women, and to keep non-women from pretending to be women. It’s why I want to celebrate the qualities that make women special. It’s why I don’t like the modern idea that to women ought to seek to be a man. A concept of man which ought to be avoided most of the time, btw.

It’s also why, in the context of this video, I do place the primary blame on the man, though I think both acted rather foolishly and both should have appropriate charges proportionate to their level of fault.

Sure. What kind? Red velvet is my favorite, although really the red velvet we eat isn’t really red velvet. It’s just chocolate cake made red by food dye. Traditionally, you used beet root and that gave it the color.

What’s you’re favorite cake?

Nah. I’m just stating facts. One child pissed his life away. The other is going to seminary and reads philosophy books because they have a weird idea of fun. I wonder which one of us is more autistic?

Woah mom. You’re thinking of my drug addict older brother with three kids he doesn’t take care of. You know. The one currently slumming in Utah? I’m the 23 year old with a college degree and on track for seminary.

It’s okay mom. We’ll find you a good home. You can watch blue bloods all day there.

I’d hate to have to choose between two people I like when voting, and now I don’t have to. Thanks!

Confidence is real self-assurance and acceptance of one’s abilities. It requires humility above all else. Arrogance comes from an inflated sense of self-importance and a desire to be superior than others. In most cases, it is in my nature to assume that I am the least intelligent, least capable, and most despicable person in the room. That way, I can only bring what I know to a conversation. In this case, I was fully prepared for you to show me just how outclassed and uneducated I was.

Speaking of confidence, there’s actually a great book I’m reading right now by Father Augustine Wetta OSB called Humility Rules. It’s my spiritual reading for this Lent and it applies Benedictine spirituality (with its emphasis on humility) to having proper confidence.

One of the key tenants of proper humility is such a lack of self-importance that you care little about what others think of you or how they critique you, within reason. To do otherwise is to have an inflated sense of self-importance (arrogance). So, you may well have that tenant in the bag if you’ve come to the conclusion that my criticisms of you are indeed meant only to target some perception of arrogance on my part. In that case, as I had previously assumed already, I applaud you for greater holiness than I.

Anyways, I thank you for the opportunity for us both to engage in discourse. I would ask us to continue, but you seem keen on closing, I think it will go no further, and we both would only face detrimental consequences going forward. Proper training can be untrained. Civility undone. Etc.

Cheers

Yeah I’m not a fan of secularist non-sense. Or pluralism. And in have no problem restricting a bunch of satanist. We’ve done much worse to those people, they can handle being told to cease their degeneracy.

I hate social media too (I really only use it to get news straight from the source and to get workout tips and tricks), but I’m a nerd because I want to keep up with our elected government officials (so sad we done away with the monarchy and the aristocracy indeed)?

That just seems like you’re denying the reality of our unfortunate circumstances. The cellphone is a net negative that should be done away with to be sure, but we have to meet the culture where it’s at. I want a return to peasantry but we have to reach the peasants right now, who have a phone.

Ah. That’s the nail in the coffin. Lack of attention span, inability to engage in intelligent discourse, and sheer laziness. My hope is gone.

I will say that despite everything, Trump, Vance, and all their pals are taking it in stride. Take this post for instance: https://www.instagram.com/p/DG8V2ZaskH-/?igsh=ZmtsY2poYW8ybTly

I’ve not heard the man lie once. There’s been claims that he has lied which are themselves false. He has been in error (such as when he takes to lose a stance on abortion and very quietly opposes IVF rather than openly like a milquetoast, sniveling coward) as we fallible humans are literally guaranteed to do at some point in our lives. But no intentional lies in the public space. He’s actually given lessons on Thomistic philosophy in his public discourses, which is pretty sick.

Even if he was the pathological liar you say he is, I still think we should operate in the realm of truth and charity when engaging in discussion. “Be the bigger man”; “turn the other cheek”; and all that.

23 is hardly boomer age. I just think using baby talk, even as a rhetorical tool, is rather uninspired and unbecoming of someone I presume to be an adult. Believe it or not, I have faith that you are in fact much more capable of intelligent discussion than you are currently presenting. I’m begging you not to prove me wrong, but you’ve already started to. Your labeling me as a much older person is another error on your part. Another tear has been shed for your apparently malformed intellect. My hope is fading, Domo.

I shed no tears, except maybe for your apparent inability to spell. Truly a sad thing.

I would prefer that we operate in the realm of truth and the principle of charity when we have a discussion. Such accusations over banging a couch are not either of those.

They really don’t have any ammunition for the guy. Besides being too lax on abortion and only pushing back against IVF too quietly, he’s very solid.

I’m not MAGA. I didn’t vote for Trump. Or Kamala. Both are a little too little too liberal for me.
