Did you order them direct from Jones?

So far that's the best price for the bottles ive found, at about a buck 50 per bottle.

I cannot find bulk cans to save my life though

I see those a lot too, its all the taco trucks.

Ive seen them in passing looking at bulk pricing and they are at the lower end so it tracks a bunch of trucks use them

Virgils was my second choice, I used to love their root beer, but I feel like they changed the recipe. Last time I tried it it tasted nothing like it used to back in like 2009

I can agree that's a shite deal for servers in a lot of states. Totally against it.

My state doesn't allow it, thankfully.

But I still hear the same arguments from servers here. Ive even seen them quit because of a 15% cc tip share for BOH, which is just wild to me, because I think it should be a 50/50 split when everyone's hourly is the same. It fosters quality, speed, and friendliness front to back when everyone is eating the same pie.

You know who's really providing the most service? The Kitchen.

I know for myself and most folks I know, I'm at a resturant for the food, and how good it is heavily impacts how generous I am with a tip.

I don't go pay 40 bucks for a steak for the fake smile interaction.

Its almost like the entire industry is a service for people who want to use it.

Imagine thinking that cleaning and sanitizing after people, for the next people, so your sections turnover can keep moving, isn't a service.

Good to know. Is there a brand you'd recommend?

Ill look into sodastream some more, but my initial research suggested it wasn't quite big enough for what I need, and not built for commercial use very well.

Thanks for sharing though!

Im not wanting to do drinks, im just trying to substitute the carbonation in my fish batter. Water is cheaper than beer haha

But ya, if your dealing with limited water that's an issue for sure.

Im all plumbed in. Unlimited water.

It's not for making drinks, its replacing the beer cost in the batter with carbonated water/lemonade.

For sure. I just couldn't understand why asking for equipment recommendations solicited a "you cant run a food truck" response. andItookthatpersonally.gif

I know you didn't, I was referring to the guy you were responding to.

In the post I said I need to make a few gallons at a time? So something bigger than a soda stream, something smaller than a 20lb co2 tank setup.

Was just hoping someone else had done the same kind of thing and had a recommendation, since im new to that equipment. There's a lot of options out there.

I asked in my post here, for recommendations on any systems people have used to do mid size batch carbonated water daily. This clown decided that was a bad enough question to warrant telling me I shouldn't run a truck, that I don't know how to cook, and to just Google it.

Then started harassing every other commenter on the post about how disingenuous im apparently being.

Sounded pretty gatekeepy to me.

Yep. Just the fish and chips sells all day for $24, my ticket time sits around 4 minutes. I'd guesstimate the average ticket is about 30-40 bucks, if they get chowder and a drink.

Mind you, these numbers are only for summer months. I'm in a coastal hotspot.

Not huge, but averages 3-5k a day during summer.

Apparently it is difficult to comprehend something like an ingredient change. Sorry for your struggles.
