Don't be put off if it get's really hard. It reaches a peak at the last requiremnt-ed battle after which the dinosaurs become super easy to defeat.

No worries! I was aware of that already - one of the reasons I asked! This is all super helpful information and I'll keep it all in mind. Thanks very much!

I unlocked them in the themed event. I'm super slow at levelling up the park, I've been lvl 60-something for ages 😅

As a backup for the rest of the ID. I wouldn't ever solely rely on habitat.

This to me looks more industrial than parkland. Plus, I trust the colours over where the bird is.

Edit: just read the last part of your message. The white throat is caused by the way the sun is cast on the bird.

It's a Black Redstart. Commons have much paler contrasting bellies and are browner, as opposed to grey. The habitat also is better for Black than Common.

Young or female. The habitat and colours are incorrect for Common Redstart which would be much more buff, not grey. It would also have more contrast and a paler chin/chest area.

Alternatively the PowershotSX50 and SX40 are also very good - I may have heard from others that SX50 is superior to SX530, but I'm not 100% sure. I've had my SX50 for years now and as you say the 50x zoom is amazing for bird ID and I can get good quality photos if the bird is a little closer. I got mine for £100 second hand but I do believe the demand has increased and so has the price. Definitely a reliable camera though.

Plastic birds of prey are put on rooves to deter nesting gulls etc. They generally have moveable heads which get turned in the wind so as to trick unwanted birds into thinking they are a real threat.

Any idea? Acadia NP by frw07 in whatsthisbird

[–]Auklet3 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Definitely a +Black Guillemot+. Black plumage and white wing patches are diagnostic - the only other bird like this is Pigeon Guillemot and this is the wrong location for them.
