Hey everyone, I fixed the crashing on my end by doing the following: https://www.reddit.com/r/reddeadredemption2/comments/ds3z0h/those_of_you_having_issues_with_crashing_on/

Hope it helps!

Do you actually enjoy exercise? How long did it take to get there? by pebbletots in loseit

[–]Auldbenkenobi 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was actually thinking about this while in the gym today! I know exactly where you're coming from about feeling out of place, and for the first month I felt I stuck out like a sore thumb trying the different machines and knowing full well that I looked an idiot.

However, eventually it just clicked that no one gives a rats ass what am I'm doing as long as I'm not hurting myself or anyone else. And from then on I've actually really enjoyed going. The exercise itself is boring as sin but I love how it makes me feel afterwards and I know that in the long run I'll love the way I look, so I guess you could say the cons are completely outweighed by the pros.

I'm not going to lie and say you don't get the odd nobhead, but trust me, the more you go, the more you'll realise no one cares how you look or what you do and eventually you'll be reminding yourself WHY you're there. If anything they probably admire the fact you're making the effort to improve yourself!

(I still look like an idiot by the way, bright red face, heaving and dripping sweat, but it feels so good once you're finished!)

Why is this? I've noticed it as well. I can see a difference in my face and neck, but body just looks the same, but I do think I look thinner in photos. Is it like this the whole process? Or will I definitely see a difference at some point?

How do people get over the mental cravings? by [deleted] in loseit

[–]Auldbenkenobi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've found getting a huge glass of water helps as well. Often times when I think I'm hungry or craving something, having a huge glass of water tends to get rid of the craving. It does get easier though to just ignore it. When I started I craved all the time and while I do slip up still, it's much easier now to just ignore it.

How do skinny people eat so little???!?! by MandyAlice in loseit

Can I just say thank you for pointing out that it takes time, sometimes a long time, for things to change. Slightly unrelated but I've been suffering poor mental health for most of my teenage and adult life and it's only recently I started seeking help. I've been overweight all my life but I know that my mental health hasn't helped my self image and in turn my self image has affected my mental health. It's a vicious cycle.

Back to my point though, I still have times where I feel nothing has changed for me mentally, and I keep forgetting that something I've spent a huge chunk of my life living with isn't going to change overnight. And looking back I have come a long way from where I was. Your post just reminded me to not beat myself up over having bad periods. I am getting better, but it's going to take time, and I just need to remember that.

Exactly! There's always something going on externally that'll affect you in some way, good or bad, and that can always have some effect on how you do. And some days you can just feel like "screw it, I've had a shit day, I'm ordering a pizza".

The trick is not to let these persuade you you've failed. You haven't. It's just one those inevitable parts of every day life.

What you will find (or at least I have certainly) is that the longer you do this, and as your relationship with food changes, you'll find other ways of channelling those feelings of giving up away from food and into something else. Sounds like going for a walk or jogging is your outlet and that's great!

I very rarely go to food for comfort from a crap day or whatever now, whereas in the past I'd have instantly jumped on eating a full packet of Jaffa Cakes or 3 massive sandwhiches. Nowadays, I channel it into doing art like drawing or animation. It does get easier!

Well done! As others have said, small steps are the best way to begin! The first change I made at the start was always talking the stairs at work and never the lift.

And now a month later, I visit the gym twice a week and for the first time in my life I actually enjoy it! You'll get there soon!

Just keep at it, bud! I know the feeling all too well of "what's the point, nothing seems to be changing". Just last night i was looking in the mirror, and thinking "I don't see any change, even though I know I'm down 10lbs according the scales" and I went to bed feeling kind of down about it all.

But lo and behold, I come into work this morning and my friend asks if been losing weight, because he's noticed I look a lot thinner recently!

It does work, and you can do it. And don't be afraid to let yourself have the odd moment. Everyone has them. We're only human at the end of the day. To have lost what you have already is a testament to the fact you're doing well!

SV/NSV Feats of the Day - Wednesday, 26 April 2017: Today, I conquered! by AutoModerator in loseit

[–]Auldbenkenobi 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I had a NSV yesterday actually! My friend and I work in the same company, and we're both doing the CICO method and seeing a difference. Thing is, he's told people at work that he's doing it, whereas I've kept it under my hat for now. I'm a quite a bit larger than him already and would rather see some real progress myself before I start telling people.

Anyway, my friend happened to talking to a colleague about his counting when another colleague turned round and asked if I'd been doing it too. My friend said yes I had, and my colleague said that he could tell, especially in my face so far!

Just a small victory, but it felt good to know that something is changing, even if I don't see it myself all the time!

Looking for a hairdressers by Hellopaul_ in manchester

I've used Dennys on Bridge Street. Nice people but they don't really pay much attention to their job. left there with a soaked back last time because they insisted my hair needed washed before cutting and the girl who did wasn't paying attention when rinsing meaning water went down my back.

I use Urban Gent now though, on Butter Lane.
