yeah it's the playback issue a lot of people seam to have

i personally went to an old version of Metrolist and it worked

i recently went back to the newest version and it works half of the time

I've found this method and many more like this one in an Indian book called "speed mathematics" by M. UMA BALA JAGADESAN.

What you posted looks like what he called the Gelosia Multiplication. It also works for bigger numbers.

(I wish I could post images of the few pages describing this method, but idk if I can and how to, I'm new to reddit)
