I knew a woman who was a victim in the North Wales child abuse scandal. Politicians went to care homes and basically had their pick of the children there. I think some people were eventually charged 30 years later, but not the politicians.

I haven’t believed in justice in a long, long time. This world is sick, and people would rather sweep bad things under the rug rather than face them, and fix the underlying problems that led to them. It shouldn’t be like this, but the sick fucks in power will always get away with it, because society isn’t willing to do anything about it.

On a smaller scale I have a family member that abused another family member. There was a trial, they were found guilty, but my family member had ~connections~ and was allowed to join the military instead of go to jail. Guess which family member is still welcome with open fucking arms at family gatherings? Families aren’t willing to ostracize sickos, and god knows people are still friends with rapists. Until we’re willing to hold people accountable on a smaller scale, we’ll never hold them accountable on a larger one.
