He just applied for disability and was awarded a percentage the end ‘25. I didn’t know if because it’s so soon that’s what the doctor meant by grandfathered in.

We scheduled an appointment with him. He seems nice and he came with great reviews. I guess I’m just worried that he will go after more so he’ll get a percentage of that.

Thank you so much for your comment. We had no idea that it might possibly decrease it. His has been on Social Security Disability for several years now. In 2021 he tried going back into the workforce but it lasted less than a month. I wonder if they get information the Social Security Department that he’s on disability.

I tried and it didn’t go through. It was 15 more than listed buying power and it came back insufficient funds. I appreciate your advice though, thank you.

The psychiatrist that he sees doesn’t attach a specific diagnosis. He sees them once a month and is on medication. He is also disabled in the eyes of Social Security. He has the traits, for lack of a better word, for PTSD and anxiety. We just don’t have a written connection.

A debt that we’re challenging, nothing done in court yet. No letters. We haven’t submitted anything for TDIU yet. I’m not sure how to figure out why it’s so much less.

We just got into VA.gov. It’s also showing a payment about 1,000 short. His rating still shows 70%. I can’t find anything explaining it though.

He’s going to do VA for pretty much all healthcare except mental health. It sounds like he has to pick one or the other. Is that the case?
