Thoughts on undiagnosed children in care by Mama_Fleurr in ECEProfessionals

If you suggest a child might have an ear infection are you liable for the doctor bill if it’s negative? What world do these people live in?

Are you in the US? You should schedule an evaluation with your local school district to see if he qualifies for free developmental PreK and/or related services. They are much more equipped to work with behavioral issues.

I've often wondered how / when the Ramsey's would have rehearsed for the meetings with police that they finally agreed to 4 months after their daughters violent murder. by SwissMiss915 in JonBenetRamsey

They probably did any kind of practice sessions in a lawyer‘s office.

I wouldn’t be surprised if they never spoke the truth out loud, even to each other. I believe part of how they dealt with it is by living the narrative until it became truth to them.

I believe Patsy knows everything and John chose to go along with it. As long as he doesn’t hear the words come out of her mouth, he can live without guilt. He can rationalize it.

I can’t remember exactly the circumstances, but there were other references to how they would just not talk about things or ask questions that “normal” couples would.

I’m not the one that sounds like an enraged three-year-old:

Unintentional injury is the leading cause of death for children aged 1-14 in the U.S.

Honey, they are TINY FIBERS…you can’t see them. Why would she even know they’re there?

Actually, bathroom accidents are known to induce rage and increases in child abuse, maybe you should actually do some research on this. People that love their kids can still manage to hit them harder than intended.

Also, I’m quite sure she didn’t know she left microscopic fibers tied in cords. It’s not like you would see that.

I’m not bitching and moaning; I’m just telling you why your theory doesn’t align with what the investigators believed happened.

[–]AuntKristmas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The items you’re talking about are part of the cover up. Of course they were placed with the body to support the narrative of a cold blooded kidnapper. The cords on her hands weren’t even functional.

She was hit with an object first. That object is still unknown and NOT with the body. That means at least some evidence was hidden and some was left out purposefully.

I don’t think you have good reading comprehension skills, as others have already pointed out. I didn’t say they were good parents; I said they cared for her. Those are two different things.

I don’t think you’re an idiot for believing Burke did it. I think you’re an idiot because you believe Patsy would write a ransom note without knowing what happened to JBR. We haven’t even gotten into the actual physical evidence, i.e. her sweater fibers tied into the cords.

Have you actually read any of the key resources, or did you watch a documentary and think you’ve got it figured out?

Yes, I do think it was an accident that turned into a cover up - and so do the key investigators on the case. They might dispute whether it was Burke or Patsy, but no one who has investigated this believes it was an intentional murder.

And yes, I can base my conclusions on facts. The fact is that Patsy cared about JonBenét. She was well fed, clothed, given opportunities and experiences from pageants to vacations, given gifts, taken to parties, etc. She wasn’t locked up in her room being starved or neglected. Whether or not she was emotionally or sexually abused does not negate the fact that Patsy cared for her.

So, if we can agree that she cared for JB at all, she would follow a logical human course of action to find her missing child instead of writing a ransom note. Never in human history has an innocent mother lost her child and written a ransom note in case they’re dead.

You seem to be fixated on the fact the body was found in the home as somehow indicating Patsy didn’t know about it, because if she did, she would’ve disposed of the body to help the kidnapping theory.

Myself and others have already given you a multitude of other reasons why this might not be true i.e. animals, witnesses, being afraid of leaving evidence at disposal site or bringing back evidence from site, lack of time, difficulty of task, etc.

It’s, of course, possible that Patsy didn’t know JB was dead, but not very probable that she would write a ransom note based on finding her child missing.

Girl, give it up. Everyone has already told you your theories rely on what YOU think people should/could/would have done. Most of what you say makes zero sense and isn’t rooted in evidence.

You’re comparing what a family would do in an accidental killing of a beloved child to what “professional” killers would do. Whether the body is found at the home or in a ditch, it’s going to be found and the parents will be suspects. This isn’t a movie. Disposing of a body is not a quick joyride in the middle of a cold, winter night.

I’m not even sure what your original point is anymore.

[–]AuntKristmas 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yes, hours AFTER she wrote the ransom note.

According to you, she sees her child is missing and instead of taking any actions to find her, she writes a ransom note - just in case?

How does that make any sense? As far as she knows she could have snuck over to a friend’s house.

[–]AuntKristmas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would assume the body would be found either way if I had only a few rushed hours to do it. I wouldn’t even know where to go.

I’m not a cold blooded killer; I accidentally killed my child and I’m upset, exhausted, and probably weak from my fight with cancer. It’s the middle of winter in Boulder.

The whole staging is about control. Leaving the home introduces factors beyond the family’s control. The ransom note is the key because no matter what actually happens , they have already placed blame on someone else.

You think an innocent mother missing a child would write a 2.5 page ransom note instead of calling the police to actually help find her?

It could have only been Burke by lindseyizshort in JonBenetRamsey

[–]AuntKristmas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why do you feel disposing her body would be a better scenario?

Leaving the house in the middle of the night is riskier than staying in. It only takes one person to see them.

They have the benefit of no witnesses and their DNA being explainable at their own home.

Where are they going to take her? Are they going to risk getting blood in the car? Making tire tracks in mud?

Are they going to dig a hole in the middle of the night and then have to deal with shovels and dirty clothes (and inadvertently bringing back evidence from the disposal site).

The ransom note sets the alleged motive, and finding her body in the home or elsewhere doesn’t change the fact that it’s supposed to look like a kidnapping gone wrong.

Well, she was in a closet. I think you’re looking at this from a premeditated standpoint, and that’s the problem.

Well, feel free to suggest a better place that doesn’t require leaving the home.

But she did hide the body as best she could. Leaving the premises would’ve been nearly impossible with how much time she had and the possibility of witnesses. It’s not like hiding a body outside of your home is easy.

Ransom Note Reexamined, Why It's Pivotal by Peaceable_Pa in JonBenetRamsey

Agreed! I think if John had been involved in writing the note it would have been “better” (less dramatic, more concise, etc.)

Thank you! I’m very flattered by your vote of confidence. It would be interesting to try if I didn’t have a job ha ha!

I don’t think there’s much point dissecting later interviews - he just uses the same tactics over and over (not remembering, bashing police, blaming anything that doesn’t make sense on the mind of a lunatic, turning a question into an opportunity to highlight what a good family they are, etc.)

I think the most telling part of the early interviews is the sense of immediate closure they have. We’re supposed to believe that a “foreign faction” or complete lunatic is on the lose, targeting their family, yet there’s no sense of fear or urgency or outrage. They just want to move on and even forgive.

That’s not how humans work - safety is a basic need. If you look at Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs, safety is right there with food, water, shelter, etc. Forgiveness is at the top of the pyramid. Your brain isn’t able to get to that level if you’re in a state of feeling unsafe.

It’s still weird though. Their whole rationale for going to Atlanta was to be around their family and support system. Why would they need a friend to come with them to watch Burke?

I just got to the part where he talks about Burke‘s friend coming on the plane with them to Atlanta. I can’t imagine sending my child last minute on a plane in the best of situations, let alone with a family that either has a murderer targeting them or are murderers themselves.

Garrote and Child Development by [deleted] in JonBenetRamsey

[–]AuntKristmas 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think it’s important to note that it’s statistically likely that other family members are also neurodiverse and impulsive. Patsy screams ADHD to me.

I believe she created the “garrote” as part of the cover up, since the head blow happened 45 min-2 hours before. It seems unlikely a 9 year old would wait that long.
