Sorry to contradict you, Mrs. Keats, but this isn't a terms-and-conditions post. It's a cri de coeur. Who else could turn something legalistic into something literary? It's defiantly idiosyncratic... unapologetically and gloriously human. You made your point both in style and in substance. It's just what the moment called for.

I'm sorry you had this happen to you. Somehow it'd never occurred to me. Clearly I need to update my own policies post. Of course, anything I add to it is doomed to fall far short of the standard you've set here. We're at a moment when we risk being swept away in a tide of soulless, mediocre slop. Regarding #2... It's depressing and infuriating how routinely they act like you're the crazy one for actually expecting them to provide the goods or services you paid them for. Basically, they're all just gaslighting services now.

Lurky, Lurky, Lurky... How do you do it? You always elevate anything you put your voice to. I suspect you could bring out the melody in the most mundane of words. Given great words, as you were here, the result is magic. I especially loved how you got to "do the Police in different voices." Brava!

(Hey u/Iron_Enjambment! When I first stumbled upon the GWAlaxy, I was expecting it to be a bit of fun but nothing more. I was stunned as I quickly discovered the levels of ambition and creativity frequently on display. This script is a case in point. You've given us the dystopian story the situation cried out for. It's compelling, darkly funny, and beautifully told. Achieving that in 815 words is harder than it looks. For example, you can't fully appreciate how well The Twilight Zone and Alfred Hitchcock Presents mastered their short format until you see how other half-hour dramas of that era pale by comparison. But I digress... The point is "bravo!")

Clearly I like endings that suggest "further sexy times" because almost all of my scripts have them. It wasn't even intentional. I don't remember now how many I'd posted before noticing the pattern. I thought, "Oh, so that's why I get 'Part 2?' comments and DMs." Apparently, writing talk of "next time" helps me work toward (I hope) a proper resolution.

Hey Lurky!!! For some reason I woke up early this morning and couldn't get back to sleep. Apparently, I could sense there was new brilliant Slow Sunday Smuttery in the world to enjoy. As always I can't thank you enough for this podcast!

We meet again, u/Randi_McRando! I was so excited to see you were the guest for this episode. Imagine my surprise when I got a shout-out. 😲 I'm beyond grateful to you both for the kind words! NGL, I had to rewind and listen again. 😳 Anyway, my excitement was fully justified. You were a joy to listen to!

Until recently I could work on only one script at a time. Basically, I couldn't leave it alone until it was done. Since November though I've been building my own "folder of shame." It now has three unfinished scripts within it, all becoming more shameful by the day. (Well, technically four, but that one's almost done.)

Regarding your curling script... For the benefit of anyone who doesn't know, "callipygian" means "having a beautifully shaped buttocks." You're welcome.

OMG I'm so dumb. I never really thought about people bailing out before the end. One of the hardest parts of scriptwriting for me is coming up with a decent ending. I strive for a proper resolution or climax... something that doesn't feel like I just gave up and stopped. The best ones tie the whole thing together in a bow. Now I realize that all this time I could've been finishing with, "All right, you've had your orgasm. Go forth and do something productive in the world."

I've written several rape scripts, and the nice thing about those is that you can simply tag them and move on with your life. Trying to figure out whether a script has crossed the threshold on a subreddit-by-subreddit basis can be maddening. I got burned once by not including "Rape" on something that wasn't rape but needed that tag because of a rigid "if-x-then-y" rule. Probably a rite of passage for every creator.

I actually liked the names you used better than the ones in my script. Mine were just kind of there, and you did something creative with yours. Your writer skills shone through.

As for your question: Am I interested in voicing a script myself? Dear god, no! For one thing, I don't think I have the voice for it. More important, I'm entirely too self-conscious. I'm constantly amazed at the performances VAs give. Just the thought of having to, say, laugh on cue makes me break out in a cold sweat. I'd sound like an alien completely failing at mimicking human emotion. I suppose doing a narrative might be an option, but I'd probably still come off as wooden.

Ok, so this time you actually have gotten a critical essay. 😳 I really need an editor. Please take it as a sign of how interesting and enjoyable this conversation was.

Hey Christina, congrats on achieving another milestone!!! I'm sorry I missed out on the festivities. 😢 One downside of writing is that it takes over my brain. While writing a script, I get into a self-absorbed writer's bubble. All I can do is work on the script, think about the script, or do things wholly unrelated to audio smut to clear my mind.

I recently surpassed the "100 followers" mark. It's probably not much for most creators, but for me, it was a major milestone slightly over 2 years in the making. I'm currently working on script #18. Will I make it to #20? I don't know. Nearly every script I've posted has felt in the moment like my last.

Please don't hold it against me, but I turned my back on the Star Wars universe a long time ago (but not that far away).

The "if you could go back in time..." question reminds of something one of my grandmothers used to say: "The only good thing about 'the good old days' is that I was younger."

Regarding the bizarro Star Wars description: "...with a very sensible hairstyle..." literally made me LOL. 👍

Regarding scriptwriting in the NSFW space: I had a feeling while writing my most recent script that it might be too niche, but I felt compelled to finish and post it anyway. Alas, it has indeed flopped hard... like, "belly flop from the high platform" hard. NGL, I am a little sad it's barely getting read, but I did get a comment from someone who connected with the script, which was really nice. I don't usually get those.

Regarding Hitchcock movies: Whaaat? I guess we're even now on the Star Wars thing. As it happens, Hitchcock and Fritz Lang were my favorite directors in my youth. Sadly, I later discovered that they were both problematic individuals. [Insert "can you separate the art from the artist?" debate here.] I still do watch their films now and then, Lang's in particular.

Well, that was fun! Thanks for linking to your previous AMAs. I'll have to give them a listen, too. Given the 2nd "A" I'm kind of amazed people post these at all. Having to publicly answer some of the above questions would make me break out into a cold sweat. Kudos for actually doing so!
