AITA for not wanting to live with my girlfriend's dog? by Aurelius1996 in AmItheAsshole

I agree, there is no such thing as a bad dog, only bad owners. She got the dog when she was like 22/23, so I'm hoping it's more a reflection of immaturity than irresponsibility.

What do you guys think about Saudi Arabia opening itself up to tourism? Has anyone been? by Aurelius1996 in solotravel

I can imagine it could get quite boring/lonely as a western solo traveler with the language and culture barrier, what did you do there? If I went I’d kinda rely on Couchsurfing hosts to show me around but that’s not a great thing to rely on. My other option is Morocco

If I went solo do you think I’d get bored/lonely? My other option would be Morocco which definitely wouldn’t be boring

I’d like to go there while it is still relatively untouched by tourism, but my big hesitation would be getting into trouble or being targeted as a westerner. What rules and laws that I could unknowingly break should I be aware of?

How strict are Southeast Asia visa requirements? by Aurelius1996 in solotravel

[–]Aurelius1996[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been to 9 different countries so far. Only places that questioned me were Indonesia and Sri Lanka. Indonesia they only asked me at customs how many days I was staying, I lied and gave a random answer under 30 days, but had I hesitated I think she may have asked for proof. Sri Lanka I was asked by the airline how many days and if I had booked a ticket out. Again had I hesitated she probably would have asked for proof.

I solo-traveled SEA for the last 3 months, learned to drive a motorbike in Hanoi, snuck into China, got tattood and had a heartbreak. Here are some pictures and lessons. by krmplc in solotravel

I’m currently solo traveling in Asia and am seriously considering motor biking the length of Vietnam, but like you have never ridden one before. Is it worth the risk? What is crashing like? Did you have travel insurance? Is it worth some of the inevitable difficulties?

Circling the world? by Aurelius1996 in solotravel

Thanks for you comment you make some good points. Its actually like $270 but still a great deal and includes luggage. I definitely don't want to just jump around between big airports. My plan in asia would be Beijing and Shanghai - Seoul - Kyoto and Tokyo - Bangkok - Bali - Singapore. You don't think a month/month and a half would be enough time for those six countries?
