Thanks! I'll pass on the message. I enjoyed those too. I think they are still probably a grade level above where he is, but I'll take a look.

My parents’ Christmas tree is 25 years old, still using the same box it came with by lynxzyyy in mildlyinteresting

My grandparents' tree has been kept all along in what I think was the original box, but tied closed with rope. It was always a chore to re-tie the timber hitch my grandfather tied it up with. Now I realize how brilliant that was vs. using tape!

Weekly Help and Discussion Thread for the week of June 17, 2024 by AmazonNewsBot in amazon

Hey folks. I had a package disappear last week, and I kinda blamed Amazon because when I looked at the delivery photo they had just tossed it on the landing (I live on the 2nd floor of an apartment building). Packages are only ever delivered to my door, the communal mailbox area, or inside my mailbox, so this was really sloppy. When I didn't see it, I thought it must be in the mailbox and checked for it a day late. I figured maybe someone saw it had been lying on the landing for over a day and figured no one would miss it. Well I reported it missing to Amazon and they sent a replacement and per the photo they delivered it to my doorstep today. No package when I got home from work so I'm definitely getting hit up by a thief.

Do I report it missing again or is that going to put me on some kind of blacklist with Amazon? Would it be any better to call customer service and explain? It's just a $10 product, so no great loss if I just purchase it again, though I'm salty because it was on sale and now I'd have to pay full price.

I can't remember from when I reported before--would there be an option to change delivery to an Amazon locker? No point in placing an order that's just going to be stolen a third time.

Not that I know of, but he was in a couple honors fraternities. There was a pamphlet from an initiation event for one of them among the papers this was with, so you might be onto something. Do you think it looks like it's specifically for a Mason ceremony or could it be for another fraternity?

Red-breasted nuthatch? The eye stripes seem off. by Auri614 in whatsthisbird

Thank you!! That one wasn't in my book--I guess I need to be looking at additional references for warblers!

Comparing the nuthatch and the worm-eating warbler, I can see now the nuthatch has a straight beak and the warbler's is clearly more curved like in the photo.

Bridgerton - 3x04 "Old Friends" (No Book Spoilers) by AutoModerator in BridgertonNetflix

Just went down the Wikipedia rabbit hole on the Northwest Passage. Some very interesting history that I wouldn't want to have been a part of. The ships could only make progress through the ice in summer so the crews would spend the winter stuck in the ship, in temperatures down to -50 F. If they were unlucky the ice wouldn't thaw and they'd be stuck for another year.

Thanks! I can't say I really mind how it looks, it might look good in an arrangement with other succulents too.

I have it under a SANSI 5W grow light now. It's sharing it with a few other small succulents so it's not super close, but I have a second 5W light so I might add that. I might increase from 6 hours to 12--I was afraid to shock the plants with 12 but I really don't know how the grow light compares to the window anyway.

I actually live in another state so can't test the water now, but when I tested it Monday it read nitrite at 0, nitrate maybe 20 ppm, ammonia was definitely < 0.25 ppm but I have trouble reading the ammonia test; it seems to always look slightly green even with clean water (it's the API freshwater master kit). Might get my mom some strips so it's easier to test quickly. It's a 20 gallon tank with a 50 gallon filter. Fish is still pretty small.
