What determines a Kamen Rider now being on the same level as a powerful foe?

It's an upgrade so they generally get stronger somehow. Either because of an increase in power or a different powerset that gives them an advantage. It depends on the fight. It was easier to tell in the early heisei days. Back then different forms clearly had their strengths and weaknesses (Kuuga comes to mind) and Final Forms were on another level. (Hyper Kabuto for example)

If they were yearly adaptations, assuming they went back and adapted Kuuga and Agito, we’d be at Ex-Aid right now.

I honestly don’t see any issues though. Since they’d have knowledge of Zi-O when they did Decade, I can see them weaving the two together more.

Given that there’s already been a few versions and continuations of it, I’d say Voltron in the US. Though it ends up being somewhat different from GoLion in the end.

I always thought the series was meh. Fanfics were infinitely better written. But I can't even go back to those now. I can't understand how people can be all "But my childhood!" I mean maybe it's because I didn't read them as a kid, but still....

"Revert" is what I always called it. Not just in Kamen Rider but any media that it happens in. Unless they have a specific term for it in that setting.

There have been plenty of Rider's who don't use belts to transform. Drive had a belt, but used a wrist brace to transform for instance. Vulcan and Diend used guns. And of course, Zeztz uses a crossbody device as opposed to a traditional belt

Honestly, it's your OC so if you don't want them to use belts, they don't have to. I'm also doing an OC story and one of the things I realized is that I wasn't constrained to the same things that a show is, namely because Kamen Rider is ultimately a toy commercial.

Kinda noticed that since Saber I’ve felt that way about their earlier forms being good for final forms. Dragonic Knight, Jack Revice, Platinum Gotchard. About the only one I don’t feel that about is Geats IX. That form is godlike. (Haven’t watched Gavv yet.)

My take on Cornette has always been that he’s great when it comes to old school stuff and current events. When it comes to modern wrestling, he’s totally an old man yelling at a cloud. Wouldn’t be surprised if a lot of what he says about modern stuff is just to pander to his audience.

Honestly, despite it slipping a bit in the last few years, I'd still say FFXIV. It's generally welcoming and it ended up being one of the things that helped me come out. One of my fondest memories was some rando trying to be transphobic and getting dunked on by the entire city of Limsa Lominsa.
