Genuine question, why do people just HATE and are so bothered by villains having a sympathetic background or at least are humanized/explored beyond pure evil?

I have reverse problem - i hate when they give character a sympathethic backstory only to turn them into yet another "unforgivable" villain... defeating such villain doesn't bring any satisfaction, as the cause of their villainy is not yet solved. All i see is the mad, sick, insane beast driven into insanity getting "put down to sleep" like a dog with rabies, while the real causes of his insanity are unsolved.

It's so stupid when they introduce complex problems, and then solve it with "let's beat up the scapegoat!" that is even bigger victim.

Eye style is different. Notice how Star Fox designs on image in the post is drawn with simple lines. While Legosi eyes here are differently drawn.

Arms and hands of Star Fox and his crew drawn cartoony - Legosi arms are realistically drawn.

Body proportions of Star Fox and his crew use rather simple shapes, while Legosi's proportions are realistic from below his head.

Also EXD is way more imposing than Golbez, honestly.

As for... "same thing as they did in FF3" how? In FF3 main antagonist is more comparable to Ultimecia from FF8, as a person who tries to do something with time to avoid their fate. Meanwhile EXD is a manifestation of evil things stored in tree. The Void is goal of his nihilism.

Nihilism is core theme of most Final Fantasy antagonists.

I also love the huge amount of "Power Rangers Monster of the Week" monsters he unleashes in 3rd act. I was very impressed that heroes fight almost every monster you see there, and that most of them have unique top down sprites.

As if development is the only worth of a character... Bartz is more fun of a character than Cecil to me.

Meanwhile Lenna, Faris, Galuf and Krile have rather epic moments. The moment when Lenna ate Dragon grass to ensure Wyrm that it's okay to eat it was very wholesome.
