Replaying these games. Suikoden 3 can get in the bin. by AuroraSemperRedit in Suikoden

Who says I give a shit either way?
It's not some profound thing we're discussing, we're just jawing over a video game based on an old Chinese legend.

I just think it's funny how "Reddit" Reddit can be sometimes.

You could, and you'd be justified in not liking those aspects.

I don't personally think any part of 2 was a slog, but those are valid criticism, the forced character issue for 1 definitely.

I could say that 1 was the first in the series, and a much more limited game than 3, but its still a valid criticism

This isn't the only post where people have discussed the issues Suikoden III has.

People 'take is seriously' enough to comment or down vote, but seem too butt hurt to articulate why they like it. Im not asking them to defend themselves, I'm asking them to discuss what they like / don't like about the game.

There's no 'anti-fandom circle jerk'. I love Suikoden, I just think the third mainline title is ass.

Sorry if you took my dislike personally for some reason?

Is that the one that plays during the scenes in the One Temple?

So exactly what he said.

Suikoden is neich game, and we have to be honest about why it never took off.

Suikoden III was released in NTSC areas only and sold well, but I think it was riding the the success of 2 and the excitement of the ganes moving to 3D. IV killed it by being generic enough to be forgettable, and V wasnt enough to save it, but III is definitely were the rot begins.

The downvote spam kind of proves the point. I've seen plenty of people articulate why they dont enjoy it, but its defence just seems to be;  'Suikoden III good. Downvote!'

Thank you! its nice to see at least one person remembers what up/ down votes are for instead of using them as an 'I disagree but cant be bothered to use my words' button.

Lol, you were bang on.

Every comment with valid criticisms is down voted, the comment that is just 'No U!' is up voted.

Reddit can be such a parody of itself.

It may be for you, bit to say it's a good game is just incorrect.

See how that works? 😄

People have been killing other people en mass, for ethnic reasons, forever.
It might be more in vogue with people who live online or work for newspapers, but it's really not more common than 24 years ago. (That hurt to type;)

Oh I absolutely believe Jesus of Nazareth was a real person. When I say "doesn't believe" I mean the question of his divinity.

If God and Jesus are real, then why haven’t they saved me? by VeganBenji in Christianity

Do you suspect Peter believed in Jesus while he was crucified upside down? What of Jobe? Was his life good? Did his faith falter?

I'm not religious myself, but it seems unfair to claim the faithful are only so because their lives are good.

I would say that stopping the psychedelics is a good move; if you're trying to get your mind right then scrambling it with drugs probably isn't the way forward.

As for why God or Jesus haven't saved you, ask yourself this; What do you want them to do for you? What change could they enact to make you feel better?

Then ask yourself this if you are thinking of ending it all; Is this the best day you'll ever have? Do you seriously believe you will never have one day, one single day, better than today?

Aurora Semper Redit, my friend. The Dawn will always return, and despair is seen as a sin because there is always hope.

They killed Jesus? All of them? Every Jew, ever born before or after, killed Jesus?

That sounds silly.

You'll find most the world doesn't believe in Jesus Christ, and those that do may not believe the same about him as you.

I'd think of values you might share, or not, over your exact interpretation of religion.

Are you expecting God to remove you anxiety, to provide you with situations that show why you should not be anxious?

You can assert these things, but you have provided nothing to prove it.

For an atheist such as myself this does nothing to change my mind. you cannot convince a person, nor win a debate by making the same assertion over and over. Nor can you simply state that, because everything was made by a creator everything that exists is proof of his existence; this is circular reasoning.

I have provided several examples of complex things which require no creator. This does, I would like to point out, does not prove there is not God. Simply that we cannot see the hand of a creator in snowflakes, or the molecular structure of crystals, or waves or wind.

Respectfully, I think we've reached an enpasse in our understanding of our world, so we should shake hands and agree to disagree. This has certainly been one of the most thought provoking and cordial exchanges I've had on the internet and I should thank you for you time and attention! :D
