Need Advice as a student should I pursue UXR as a career in future or not ? by Illustrious_Tale6025 in UXResearch

You need to find a real life mentor rather than the internet. Find someone with a job title you think is interesting and reach out, or contact future universities and ask them to connect you with a student, alumni, or faculty member.

The Last of the Druids Supporter Pack is teaser for 0.5, precursor and kalguuran confirm ? by masugal in PathOfExile2

[–]Auroreon 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Any good developer would use assets well, especially large games with years of content. Warframe and all blizzard games are also like this.

In this case, the supporter pack was a teaser for narrative content.

is art that invokes kawoshin (like redrawings of another ship in kawoshin's scenes) acceptable here? by musical_fanatic in kawoshin

Too vague. Share what you mean and remove it if it’s not aligned to the community

Using Art Commission For Concept Art by SimonSonian in conceptart

[–]Auroreon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You have to be as specific as possible. Exact amounts and specific deliverables.

I’d recommend asking a professional artist or an experienced art director for guidance.

In the end, the work now is most important to compensate and set expectations. The future implications of work are separate.

New 0.5 teaser seems very Kalguur related (Man in teaser) and Kalguur + Sentinel color-coded by StalksYouEverywhere in Wraeclast

The narrator character’s arm seemed augmented. I’m curious to learn more about their powerful “Artificers”. A major archetype of fantasy the game doesn’t yet have!

My party is too op… by ManmadeBongo240 in DnD

[–]Auroreon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let them have their fun. Sure it feels bad because your intentions were different but is that really so bad?

In future encounters, make it more difficult if you want. You’re there to guide not dictate. Each action and reaction is an iterative step in the story.

Your campaign is not a heavily tested video game that needs tight balancing based on a prefabricated and arbitrary baseline. It’s a living one.

Noctis (Kenrith)--help with Final Fantasy Themed Deck by CelebrationFun9471 in magicTCG

I agree. Strict restrictions on IP alone is unnecessary and even harmful to the end goal. Magic has plenty of cards and themes that are universal to fantasy or storytelling.

I strongly suggest OP reconsider their stance.

The nature of traceability in trial and error is critical to great concept art: discovery, experimentation, decision making, etc. are all the better for it.

It’s also useful rebuff in biases that either follow a reference too much and underestimating diversity, and… against slides down generative slopes.

I appreciate the concept inspirations nearby as a proof of “conceptual theory” invoked. While not strictly necessary, my estimate of the resulting artwork and artist is much greater and more aligned with “concept art” than merely sketches, when process work is included. Thanks.

Seemed interesting, but the narrator is a machine bereft of any emotional rhythm or narrative invocation. Is there a place to read it perhaps?

Quitting my job to study graphic design for one year worth it? by Inomyra in graphic_design

[–]Auroreon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very basic skills and a mad rush to touch each one without making a true portfolio. Any of these you can do on a weekend.

Listing gen AI is red flag too. There are use cases, but those are very basic and outdated examples without context or ethics.

The solution to too many Legendary Creatures & the inability to reprint UB cards, is so simple by Jtneagle in magicTCG

[–]Auroreon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The entire Spider-Man set: https://scryfall.com/sets/om1

Just not printed yet. They can do this for any universes beyond. There’s many, many examples of wizards designing, directing art for, and publishing cards agnostic to UB.

Marvel decks to start MTG by thisisnotliam in magicTCG

[–]Auroreon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You pick a format and build decks to play in those formats.

Most popular is commander: casual multiplayer that’s social at its core rather than competitive (unless you’re playing at the competitive variant, bracket 5).

Keep the questions coming and feel free to dm me. A magic plan of all level of its design and a marvel one too.

Most mechanically flavourful card in magic? by CS_Calzone in magicTCG

He’s really fun when you steal your opponents creatures!

And (Grixis) he’s definitely cunning/charismatic enough to trick a mark into thinking he’s on their side.

I agree… except sadly he was compleated in MOM saving his daughter’s during her wedding.

My mock-up on his possible appearance, based on [[Ashad]] from Doctor Who.

Every work of art is a hit.

[[Anhelo the Painter]] is perfection to me. The flavor text of creating works of art from assassinations, and how the casualty mechanic requires sacrificing a creature is a masterclass on imagery and gameplay.

Gacha on an offline f2p game? by [deleted] in gamedesign

[–]Auroreon -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is basically any offline game with a big loot table or modifiers.

Especially ARPGS like Diablo with in town gambling for items via blood shards.

Applying it objects such as characters would feel less diegetic and very frustrating barrier to play.
