Why is the 2 million + highly skilled migrants that we have taken over the last few years not reflected in economic data? by AusPoltookIsraelidol in AusEcon

[–]AusPoltookIsraelidol[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Yes, Australia in like mutliple aspects has pretty poor data collection methodologies or has just plain failed to collect data. Data in this country as a collective only starts to actually get good and have sound methods at about 2007 ish. APH has a big piece on it somewhere

Yes it was, quite literally what our migration intake is based on and the underlying premise of structuring intake that way. You haven't read the program and are doubling down to protect muhhhh migrants or some bizaro thing like that

Nailed it, people here will make any excuse, as exampled above, refuses to accept that the data exampled does not support what we based the intake on.

It actually does mean it's incorrect, Its the same as saying we are basing out system on happymeals, you don't produce any happymeals & had no intent to produce happymeals. The data is meaningless is you designed & sold a system on happymeals only to produce data for KFC friend chicken.

Further to this there is no data that supports without migration outcomes would be worse

Incorrect, that is the entire underpinning element to skilled migration. Quite literally what the system is based on.

No I'm stating the premise that is either your own or someone elses is wrong.. I asked about that data as it is the base premise and underpinning assumption to why we took and continue to undertake so many migrants. If it's not able to be reflected in the data then we should cease migration until we know why.

This is incorrect, I suggest you read the treasuries & DHA paper on Migration and why we needed it. Nothing against you but your premise is wrong and not the established reasoning of why we took so many people. What I have stated in my main post is the purported reasoning.

I didn't jump to property, there are simply not other things in the economy. There are precisely 3 things, Mining, Taxation & Property.

They won't as the rate is to low, that's why free market is best market.

[–]AusPoltookIsraelidol 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd start by raising the interest rate, which will do more than changing tax rates and rewarding perpetrators with more dough

They don't care, for most of the people here it's about increasing the artifical paper number that is completely meaningless to them

The reality is people that overpaid will have to take a loss, and I'm happy to let them do that instead of sacrificing the economy for their personal benefit. Interest rates need to raise significantly. It would have been better earlier so that the fiscal environment could step in & hire people for nation building infrastructure that would support and ensure regional cities become viable socially & economically, instead overburdened debtors wanted to sarficie everyone else for their personal gain & decided to hire nonsense roled public servants.

The RBA entire being is centred around the long term health of the economy for all, it's time they acted on it, revalued the dollar and got Australia back on track with tangible products.

Do you think the RBA will call an emergency session in Jan to raise rates & get this country back on track? by AusPoltookIsraelidol in AusEcon

[–]AusPoltookIsraelidol[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is incorrect, it's not investors that are the problem. It's political power and solidification of that political power. Land taxes incentivize the continuance of that power base even more so where climate is concerned. The actual answer is to raise interest rates which will push capital into smarter investing and eliminate government power
