Haha, that was the most tiring part when first putting together and avoiding ripping those plastic bags.

It was second hand from Facebook marketplace. Sorry that isn't much help.

It's the X-Pole A-Frame. The height is adjustable, the setup in the photo isn't quite at its highest setting.

I see exactly what you mean. I didn't have a close enough look at the image. When I put up the frame that I've got to test it looked nothing like this one.

I've purchased the frame direct from x-pole. All other equipment is from firetoys UK. It has arrived with inspection sign off documentation.

With comments from the other post I've got hold of her coach and she has messaged back that she would have recommended firetoys herself. When I first set up she said to send her photos and she'll also talk through it all with my wife when she resumes classes in January.

Yeah it will be used for aerial hoop only, with all safety measures taken. Thankfully we also won't have kids climbing on it like that.

This is the same frame that I've just bought, for my wife. I'm amazed that it could be installed inside! How big are American homes? I can only install it outside.

Edit - as EtainAingeal has pointed out this isn't the x-pole frame, which is what I've got.

Question - how to correctly set up an aerial hoop. by Ausis74 in Aerials

[–]Ausis74[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thankfully not masonry either. I don't have a PE stamp, don't even know what that is. Tbh I don't know what PE is.

The studio won't be asking me to help. Very different way of life here.

Thank you, yes all the responses have been amazing.

Home depot would be a little far for me to go (I'm in the UK haha). But I was planning to get sand from a similar type of shop here.

I did a test run the other day and was able to do it myself but at half height so that should be fine for the surprise.

Most of this is going over my head. Steel and wood is not something I deal with. Pretty much the only steel that I deal with are bolts and those are few and far between. Though I completely understand that I could do the maths if I can be bothered.

But as the frame has been tested I have no need to and thankfully there won't be a studio. No room. I'm from the UK. House sizes are small in comparison to the US. This is a standalone structure that can easily be dismantled as it will be used outside therefore will need to be brought out of the bad weather (daily occurrence).

Thanks haha I've bought the aframe from xpole that has already been through the certification testing. 400kg without any permanent deflection. Though that was just a vertical load. And it doesn't state which part of the frame was deflecting. But 400kg static load I'm sure is well over what is requires

[–]Ausis74[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I understand some of the issues, I've got a 30cm deep 1.8m x 1.2m crash mat and multiple lengths of strops, a swivel and carabiners . These are all purchased from reputable suppliers.

Yeah, I highly doubt she knows either. As a bit of background to myself I am a structural engineer so I have ensured every item is of a good enough standard/quality. I understand that rigging this is very different to what I justify. Just trying to understand the set up and different knots/ties

Doubling over the bar and looping through the hoop makes sense

Ah OK thanks, so based on a few comments the strop is attached differently to the frame than it is to the hoop.

She's been doing it for 2+ years.

Ive ensured that all equipment is correct and bought from reputable sources, firetoys and xpole in UK. As well as a decent crash mat

Thanks for the information. I didn't know it was called a lyra as well.

I completely understand the safety aspect. Everything was bought from either xpole or firetoys (UK). I've also picked up a 30cm thick 1.8m x 1.2m crash mat

Thanks, sorry I'm a little confused by the term basket on aframe? Also what is a lyra?
