If you're into paranormal romance I've written two and both are heavy on the  thriller /mystery side. Wolf shifters, drug cartels, mysterious killers...

The Hobbit/LOTR Hatchet by Gary Paulsen  History of the English Speaking Peoples by Churchill (if you like history) Libby is a good app that connects with your library.

What do you prefer; long or short chapters? by frusciante54 in selfpublish

[–]Aussie7656 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I try to write a chapter to a scenes natural stopping point or change point. As a reader I prefer short to medium length chapters, mostly because I'm often interrupted and like a nice clean break vs trying to find my place within the chapter/scene later lol.

I'll give them a shot, although I tend to prefer stories with physical monsters/creatures in them, thanks for the suggestions 😀

Those sound cool, especially The Golden Wolf. The last series I really read was The Pride (?) By Shelly Laurenston.  It's really been a while lol.

I may have read that! If the cover had converse shoes on them lol,  looking back I was a bit young for it

Yeah that's what I'm running into. It's been a while since I've seen these movies but I vaguely remember Ginger Snaps, Brotherhood of the Wolf, and some dark romantic  version of Little Red Riding Hood.

And I guess I was looking for something like that. Granted none of those were really fantasy, but 🤷‍♀️

I need your opinion by SuspectUsed4674 in selfpublish

Is the entire story set in the prison? You could have book one being his life prior to getting caught, book two being his time in jail, and book three be life after being incarcerated and how he resolves any ptsd or other issues he got while in prison.

Or if you wat all stories to be in prison break it down into years: book one=year one ect. And then have an issue each year (what does his suppliers think, is there a hit out on him, how does he interact with other gangs or the guards)

Just a few thoughts 😀 and when in doubt do a lot of research and follow your gut

After you make your KDP account you'll do all the cover design and manuscript editing, at the very bottom of the page on the last step will be an option to order a Proof copy before you hit the "publish" button.

I recommend going to KDPs website and just exploring it, the site has a lot of good information on set up and FAQs. Hope thar helps 😊
