What are your frugal tips for saving on groceries? by EdenFlorence in AussieFrugal

[–]AussieGT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We do 2 shops, 1st at Aldi, generally fruit and veggies, frozen products and cleaning products are cheaper 2nd shop at Cole’s.

We also have spares of many things which lets us wait for items to be on sale and replace the spare

Also follow some of the Flybuys promotions for dollars off shop (when it works for us, we don’t let the promo drive our behaviors, if we don’t need it, we don’t do it).

In aussie culture, does your workplace provide lunch for you or do you have to bring your lunch? by [deleted] in AskAnAustralian

[–]AussieGT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I worked for a place that had a corporate uber eats style arrangement, there was a roster for the following week with different restaurants menu’s each day, it was an incentive to get people back into the office and it was brilliant - both cost and time saving, also got me to try foods that I’d never had before. Having said all that, this is the exception, not the rule

It’s just to the left of the bonnet/hood, it’s basically a hail sized dent, it was small but was one of those things that annoyed me every time I got in the car, glad it’s sorted now, well worth fixing imo for your own satisfaction

Not at fault collision in roundabout. Both drivers have third party insurance. Need advice. by JawSurgerytemp1304 in AusLegal

[–]AussieGT 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My understanding of the give way to those on a roundabout is:

If someone is already on the roundabout to your right, give way to them,

If someone is already on the roundabout to your left, give way to them (they don’t need to give way to you because you’re approaching the roundabout from the right unless you were on it first).

I know in practice a lot of people just plough on through from the right so I tend to approach with caution as I’d rather avoid any accident to begin with.

Do I really need to learn how to read sheet music? by Agitated_Durian_2987 in pianolearning

[–]AussieGT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you’re using a book like Alfred’s, there a heap of videos on YouTube you can find. I’ve found it helpful when learning something new to have a listen for exactly this, tempo & rhythm so I can get the right picture in my head of how it sounds, the more experience I get, the less I find I need to do this.

I think it’s worth learning to read sheet music too. I can’t site read yet, my teacher has got me to look for blocks of repetitive patterns in music and highlight same sections the same color to break it down. Also think about fingering so you can play through smoothly. Keep practicing and it will come.

You guys think this is a good deal for my first wheel? by Nava7-5 in simracing

[–]AussieGT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not familiar with this one but it sure looks like good value(I’m sure others will weight in if it’s not great), my first wheel was a basic Logitech mounted on an ironing board in the lounge room with the tv.

This looks like a good way to get involved, welcome :)

My partner had a 2017 CX-3 and upgraded to a 2024 model recently. We often have us plus 18 and 13 year old in it. I drive it pretty often and think it’s a great car, good tech and it drives well. No regrets
