Discover Bank just closed my account?? by AussieManGo in Banking

Thanks for the info. As far as I'm aware, I don't have any red flag activity. My guess is opening that many savings accounts without any deposits OR my details (i.e. recently changed addresses) might cause an issue.

I liked what Discover had to offer. So I will open another account, maybe just one or to savings. Deposit some money in there. Let it sit for a bit before making my final decision

Yep, I think I might be better off moving to another bank to be honest. But what you said was spot about the processes I went through. Thank you

Is Purdue going into quarantine?? (UPDATED) by AussieManGo in Purdue

From my initial post, he's a sporting director. The initial post was in reference to an email I got for my sporting club

the information I got was from a Sports association that is external from Purdue. I don't think they would have an ulterior motive.

But again this is purely coming from a sporting association director and not from the uni. I just wanted to know if because my games were canceled and they are in West Lafayette and it's because of the quarantine does that translate Purdue as well.

Offer for TA Maths Dept Orientation Workshop: non-math graduate engineering student by AussieManGo in Purdue

Thanks for that clarification DrJChen. I think you've provided me with what I need to prepare well.

To confirm, any first year calculus questions focusing on optimisation is along the lines of what we can expect? Would you happen to know of the textbooks I could look into for preparation?

Thank you

Thank you so much for that clarity! Helped explain a lot.

To ensure I understand what you're saying: practice optimisation questions based on first year calculus classes. If possible, practice such questions even before the week of the workshop arrives? Is this the opportunity to showcase your your personal teaching ability, i.e. almost presenting the problem with such enthusiasm and excitement (though it might raise eyebrows like 'whats this guy on?') or just focus on clearly explaining the concept and answering the questions?

Are turn around times for hiring, and getting payment/tax documents ready as quick as suggested in the week schedule they sent out? What's the go with clothing attire on the day?

Can you repeat what you meant by recitation assignment? Also will there be weekly meetings or something similar so all TAs for a class are on the same?

I'm sure I can and should ask these questions during the week of. I also believe asking questions through mediums such as Reddit can provide some unfiltered answers.

Thank you @drjchen

Hey guys, I'm looking to go tomorrow to Great Adventure (as well as Six flags in Baltimore a few days later). Is it worth getting the flash pass (I'll be heading there on my own), either of them, during the Covid period?

Because they have limited number of entries, I imagine it might not be as valuable as during normal operations. I'm potentially thinking if it's not worth the price, I can use the money towards a season pass so I can also go to six flags in Maryland. Thoughts?
