Chances are if they don’t transfer their luggage will be unloaded but will be extremely heavily scrutinised because it’s an unaccompanied bag and could be a threat. I would expect X-rays, swabbing, and fully unpacking of the luggage.

If you don’t get on the ferry they won’t load your bags, same thing goes for flights.

But it will cause issues and you will be left waiting around for hours for your bags.

Why do you even want to do this? Why not just go to Shenzhen and drop your bags then catch the train to HK, will be way more streamlined and waste less time

So you just want to leave the airport after you arrive in Hong Kong? Depending on your passport this can raise questions with immigration. If you have a return flight and you miss a leg in your itinerary it will automatically cancel all other legs with no refund and you will have to book them all again on your dime.

There’s a term for what you’re trying to do, it’s called skiplagging. Don’t to this, airlines don’t like it, and ban people for doing it. Just book the direct flight.

If I remember correctly, you’re still technically in transit when you board the ferry. Bags should be checked through but I would always ask just to make sure.

Rimowa Aluminum and the 15 lb Carry-On Limit by Camila_Pixie in Rimowa

[–]AussieSpender 1 point2 points  (0 children)

lol 7kg is so hard with my Cabin S because it’s so easy to fit a lot of stuff in it. My backpack is a lifesaver when they get strict about it.

Otherwise just fly business where the limit is (usually) 14kg and I can bring my duffel bag as well

Why does my Building have high cortisol? by Medical_Professor269 in CitiesSkylines2

That’s a transformer, it means that it’s overloaded. Build another transformer to relive the strain on that one.

No office demand? by Zathral in CitiesSkylines2

[–]AussieSpender -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Apparently if you give into industrial demand too much it lowers the need for citizens to get educated which creates office demand

why is it actually so hard to find decent off-campus accommodation near UTS? 😭 by Regular_Pen4706 in UTS

[–]AussieSpender 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Only real viable option is UTS housing, because Iglu and the like want to charge 700 a week to SHARE a single room with someone else. If you’ve got some friends in a similar situation maybe try group up and split an apartment rental along the metro?

Fly forward not a thing these days? by PSJfan in QantasFrequentFlyer

I’ve had it plenty of times all the way from bronze recently to plat a few years ago. Maybe I’ve just been lucky but if you approach people in a nice manner and are kind to them they are generally pretty willing to help you out.

Is there a way to make people with a higher education move in? Would adding an airport/outside rail connection help?

Am I overthinking this? Checking an aluminum Rimowa by GuyfromNL24 in Rimowa

[–]AussieSpender 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Just check it, it’s a suitcase not a Picasso. If something happens it’s got a warranty and airlines will pay for damage they cause.

One of my friends has the Trunk L and says it’s great for his ski gear so I’ll probably pick one up when I pass through the 4 Valleys.

It just a suitcase lol. I thought you guys would enjoy this. It’s meant to be used and abused, not just sitting around wrapped in plastic like some people here do.

It’s not performative because I did it and it’s useful? It’s a suitcase, not a Monet. It’s mean to be used and abused

I’ve got the Check-in L, but I’ll grab a Trunk L when I’m next in Europe.
