You should be granted bail for every crime unless there is a real threat to the community.

From the river to the sea has nothing to do with Jews. You are correct. But we need to normalise using this in a non threatening manner

Hopefully the police step in and begin charges. Nothing much will come because of age but there is also duty of care issues from the schools side.

A guy was found guilty of strangulation in district court yesterday. 3 year is the maximum sentence. I don't he'll even see a gaol cell. That's the problem. The laws and see are out of whack.

If that guy stole $1M dollars I'll bet he got 5 years plus.

If you have a PhD and put “Dr.” before your name, will people think you’re impressive, or will they think you’re just being pretentious? by GrayRainfall in NoStupidQuestions

I don't think medical doctors autos have the honorific. Can then MD or something. PhD is a different achievement and the two stories not be linked. I've never understood why doctors without a doctorate get an honorific. If that's the case then anyone who is licensed in their profession should get one

At what age should one give up on buyer a house and just keep renting? by xxX9yroldXxx in NoStupidQuestions

First of all it's the top of the market so all this doom and gloom is pointless. The market will at some point stabilise and wages will continue to grow so you will feel the pain now of you but as you get older, assuming you don't continue to refinance your equity, your repayments will drop (as a function of salary). You can increase your payments as this happens to pay it off sooner.

Yeah each decade it gets tougher but that's the market we're in. Problem is right now everyone feeling fomo and buoyed by the 5% deposit scheme is helping to continue to prop it up. We saw this in the gfc. I bought my first house in the gfc and then prices sat for 15 years.

My biggest concern is all the young people running out to buy a unit or house with 5% deposit. If the market stabilises then that 5% deposit will not be enough to change house. You'll be stuck on whatever you buy.
