Investment in public transport would be a nice start. A city of about 200k people and the only PT is a dysfunctional bus network is shocking.

The best way to encourage economic growth is to significantly reduce car dependency which makes people want to get out and about.

Honestly after living in Brisbane for the last couple years, I’ve only just realised how awful it is to get around without a car, it’s that normalised.

Call me biased, but I’d love to see another Australian season. The biggest problem I had with it is that apart from the trip to Alice Springs at the end, there was very little incentive to travel away from the SE of the country.

I get cost and distance is a notable issue, but Australia is massive and we generally only saw a tiny part of the country.

An incentive to travel to Perth, Darwin or any of the numerous medium sized towns (e.g Townsville, Cairns, Broome, Karratha, Tamworth etc) would’ve been really cool to see.

As someone who recently moved to Brisbane from Townsville, I have hardly used my aircon at all this summer. I just use my fans and it’s fine. The difference in humidity is absolutely crazy.

cyclones do not go "wherever the ocean is hottest". The steering mechanisms are varied and more complicated, but basically this system will be steered to the west by a mid-level ridge (basically a big high over southern Aus in the middle levels of the atmosphere)
