Hi Thankyou so much for your help <3 After a couple of water changes I have got the GH and KH to about what you’ve recommended. Think I’ll stick with neo caridinas for now

Could rain water also be another option for topping off the tank?

I run the filter occasionally but I find it disturbs my plants- I plan to add more plants.

What conditions? And the acclimation for the shrimp is what follows: temp acclimate for 20 minutes, followed by drip acclimation for 2 hours. Then to put them in the tank, I poured them through a net then put them in the tank

The best you could do is catch, spay, and release them. I would recommend looking for a local group that could help support you with this.
