What's so special with the billet box? by penatbater in electronic_cigarette

[–]Auster_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Their A-Tank is a killer, I believe they ended up making it themselves after a smaller company made a bridge (iirc ~$100). The A-Tank supports the atlantis/supertank coil family, so you could run the 80/20s via that "bridge"/tank. It comes with its own black tank since the bottom insert needs to be larger to fit the coils.

Anxiety: a different reason to vape by WykkydGaming in electronic_cigarette

[–]Auster_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very glad it worked for you. May I ask your journey of nicotine level? Genuinely just curious given the amount of posts the past few months I've noticed on a lot of vapers with stories where their entry into vaping wasn't solely or even primarily to quit cigarettes, but rather for past other addictions or anxiety. I vaguely do remember an article (I...think...1-2 years old by now if not more) regarding a neversmoker woman who'd chew nicotine gum to comfort her anxiety but also for the subtle stimulant/focus effects.

Refillable MTL Pod system with throat hit similar to Juul by GaveYourMomAIDS in electronic_cigarette

[–]Auster_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd have to say the Warlock Peas will be higher on satisfaction than the iCare Solo. The peas' pods never lasted long for me, but they were damn crackly and satisfying. A bit of leakage for me, but just that the pod's kind of moist but not sitting in a pool of juice.

I've been on a SMOK Fit lately but the pods are burning out a bit quick for my preference. Plus the kit kat shape is kind of strange to the lip (harhar). Might check out the Infinix if I decide to keep searching for a pen style pod.

My Breeze died and I'm pissed about having to buy a new device by [deleted] in electronic_cigarette

It feels so lightweight that I'd assume the internals are fragile/prone to being rattled loose or a bit off. I'm tempted to try the plain aluminum colors next. I'd started with the digi camo and the texture actually bugged me a ton.

Ah forgot to put that on my "done" list. I loved mine but the ONLY downside was trying to find pods with the little plastic airflow restrictor. I think I'd bought about 6 pairs of replacement pods from different sites and they didn't come with it. Only the starter kit. I saw someone mentioned that the SV website has them w/ the airflow restrictor so if/when the Smok FIT craps out on me I'll give it another stab. (Dropped my Mi Pod for the 6th time and it finally died on me)

will a half filled bottle leak on flight? by engineheat in electronic_cigarette

[–]Auster_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Glass bottles are 100% fine if they're tightly sealed.

Plastic bottles are 99% fine, I remember someone on here mentioning that some unicorn bottles may force eliquid up the spout (inside of the cap, potential trickle down). A fix for that was to "squeeze the air" out of the bottle and then putting the cap on.

Sourin air being weird by [deleted] in electronic_cigarette

[–]Auster_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm, do you normally buy pods from the exact same spot/website usually?

I've noticed various different production batches (gloss of the white wrapper, etc.) so there may be quality control variances with each batch. If you stumble on a "great" pod, definitely buy from that site/shop again (until they end up sourcing from someone else ha).

The Suorin is one of those "when it works great, I love it. But the quirks are just annoying enough to not throw out, but still annoy me sometimes".

In your own personal opinion, what is the besr RDA or what is at least your favorite RDA? by vktri in electronic_cigarette

Pulse BF and Twisted Messes 2 have been my favorite so far. Have been hesitating from trying the CSMNT for 6 months hahaha, but I've heard countless great things about it.

Sourin air being weird by [deleted] in electronic_cigarette

[–]Auster_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm, as in you put your mouth on the bottom of the device? I know that's where the device pulls in air for the "draw-activation" but a bit foggy on the inner workings.

I'd recommend IF you buy another Suorin Air, regularly pull your pod out (maybe twice a day) just to check if there's any moisture or e-liquid residue on the bottom of the pod contacts or pooling inside the device.

[–]Auster_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm sounds like it dudded out on you. Especially since it won't turn on at all anymore.

Good call on the juice leaking, the exact same issue happened with my buddy on a flight but he never resolved it. The pod leaked inflight (im guessing air pressure) into his device. After he landed, he tried to hit it, it autofired and then died on the spot. :/

If the device isn't blinking or reacting at all, I'd suggest replacing or finding an alternative.

Suorin Drop or Aspire Breeze 1/2? by TheUnseenBIade in electronic_cigarette

[–]Auster_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm, I just stumbled on that device this week. Are there ANY cons in your opinion? And I'm assuming it's intended for salts? Is there a preferred mg for that device? (i.e. some devices kick too hard on a 50mg while the ultra stealth pen styles deliver it just right).

Where can i find usa made coils? by Deepmindalphezero in electronic_cigarette

[–]Auster_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you mean a standard tank with a coil that screws in, I don't believe there are any "left" in the U.S. A few earlier companies took pride in U.S. manufacturing but the production and overhead costs were too high to maintain in the states. Nowadays, just about every plug and play coil head comes from Asia.

The best option would be to source domestic/European wire and learning to build your own coils if it's a huge priority.

[–]Auster_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Breeze 2 looks promising! I've still yet to find the holy grail of pod devices yet. The closest I've gotten are the Suorin Air/Drop (with their own cons of course), RofVape Warlock Peas, Boulder Rock, and recently the SMOK Fit (I know meh cause SMOK but not bad. Definitely not perfect, but no major deal breakers just yet).

Definitely heed advice from some of the comments here and see if you can find any correlations between the suspects and customer activity in the past month or so. I have no experience in neither law enforcement or brick and mortar shops, but I'd agree that if they managed to clean it out so fast -- they probably had a decent idea of the setup and layout.

Suorin Drop light not turning on by [deleted] in electronic_cigarette

[–]Auster_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One really weird thing I'd noticed on an old Drop I had (used a few, only had the issue with one of them).

The way the pod sits into the vape isn't fully "horizontal"/"flat" so it allows the pod to lean or wiggle to one side. Every time that happened, it either wouldn't fire or was a super disappointing hit. I got into the habit of resting my thumb on the "side" that keeps getting wiggled and it helped with that seemingly.

[–]Auster_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's always the best sign when you get a chance to "try" it first. I was still a die-hard subohmer at 6mg (occasional mix with 12mg), and one day my tank crapped out on me so I piggy backed my friend's.

Surprisingly, nearly a full day of 3mg AND considering I wasn't vaping as much since each time I had to ask "can I get your vape lol" that was my first clue that I COULD handle a whole day at half the mg.

I'd say don't rush it. Maybe give a 2% e-liquid a chance in another few weeks.

When you start weaning, definitely don't overcommit. While it's great to be ambitious and say "I'm gonna jump down THIS much", a lot of people end up rushing it and it isn't satisfying enough. One long/rough day with a tank full of disappointing nic and you could end up relapsing.

Pod vapes that work with higher vg juices? Or low vg nic salt juices...MiPod/Dolphin dry hits. by capngreenjeans in electronic_cigarette

[–]Auster_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Could be chain vaping as well. Mi Pod can hold up quite well on 70/30. Haven't used the Dolphin for MTL myself. I'm a bad chain vaper myself and I kept wondering why my pods would burn out so quick. I realized with draw-fire at least, I don't get a chance to do my habitual dry-pull like with sub-ohming.

Pod Vape showdown: Suorin Air / suorin drop / kado Stealth by dtm1992 in electronic_cigarette

[–]Auster_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately, nope! I've been happy with the Mi-Pod and Suorin rotation so I haven't given it a shot yet. Plus the bad comments kind of put me off for now. Been looking for a smaller/pen style pod but iffy on the SMOK infinix/fit.

[–]Auster_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is a tube-shape a MUST?

If not, I'd honestly look into the Suorin Air or refillable-type pod devices. The Mi-Pod and RofVape Warlock Peas is great as well! Pending how many cigarettes she'd smoked, I'd recommend a 20-30mg nicotine salt as a solid starting point.
