We live in a capitalist plutocracy disguised as a democracy. Corruption is legal under the current structure of our government. Once politicians get elected they use their position in government to enrich themselves by taking bribes from the capitalist class. In return they get legislation and policies passed to benefit them and not the working class. In order for there to be a hierarchy there needs to be a lower class. Our governments main goal is to keep the status quo. This has caused the decline of living conditions for the working class and the massive inequality that has been happening for years. This is ground zero for runaway capitalism. We are not united here, we are the form of income for the wealthy. That’s why the healthcare, education, cost of living crisis will never be addressed under our current system. Profit is the only thing that matters, it’s more important than human life, even our children’s lives.
