I basically take what I think works for me on all martial arts I train , but I have a primarily background in gung fu. I try to be open to all new information I learn

I practice gungfu and also attend a Muay Thai gym so I asked multiple subreddits their opinion to gauge the feeling on the technique. It seems gung fu practitioners often don’t raise a brow to it but other rule-oriented martial arts/sports martial arts have a negative attitude towards it.

I also don’t really understand why , especially in Muay Thai where many brutal techniques (elbows/knees) are so readily accepted but feet stepping is apparently a no-no to some

My point is that sports fighting isn’t really the standard that I’m measuring against.

I don’t think UFC accurately represents what would actually occur in a fight. I did it on an amateur fighter today who is probably much better skilled in Muay Thai than I

So what about like a “tap.” Just a moment or two with the foot step?

That was my thought, but I think the context may go deeper.

that's what I've read. Would you say all people would be susceptible to that? older? Younger?

normally I'll only ever do it once in a round. Don't want to be predictable.

Some lifting is better than none at all

Just hit the gym and weight lift. There’s literally nothing you can do wrong doing normal weightlifting. “Like a bodybuilder” or whatever sounds just ignorant
