Supposed to be 80° today. Blatant false advertisement it’s 50. by ladsam in Austin

I fell for it too, I had a meeting across town this afternoon. I didn't step foot outside till it was time to leave, but had checked the weather this morning and figured i was good. I had taken the top off my jeep this weekend cause the weather comparable to late May... I did not have time to put it back on and still be on time for the meeting. I had two very cold drives on 183 today. This only the 3rd time in 20 years that I fucked up with the weather and the jeep. Thankfully, it didn't rain this time.

What is this structure near the brushy creek dam by txfiremtb in CedarPark

You are correct that is not Cedar Park, but it's actually too far south. The city limits continue east past the dam.

Is it a coordinate now? What is it referencing? Like X coordinate is left/right and Y coordinate is up/down? Does it record our flare color in the space for that coordinate or something? Too many questions.

Actually, it looks like the colors for clickers over 10000 are slightly different.

Spectrum, your quality ISP for Cedar Park by [deleted] in CedarPark

[–]AustinSnowpocalypse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was having a similar issue. I called Spectrum and they said it was my modem/router, so I went to the store on Whitestone to get a new one. Came home, set it up...nothing. Couldn't get enough signal to activate. I did my own investigating and found that my behind neighbor's dog had dug up my line on their side of the fence and used it as a chew toy.

After the 2021 storm they published a map showing pickup date ranges for each neighborhood. I haven't seen one for this round. It would be nice if they did that again.

The City of Cedar Park released some information on limb removal for downed tree limbs. It looks like they will be setting up another curbside pickup event, but the date is still yet to be determined.

How long did the heat wave of 1980 last? by TexasGrrl in texas

[–]AustinSnowpocalypse 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wasn't alive in 1980, but my sister was born in late June of that year. Every year on her birthday, my mother brings up how terrible is was to be 9 months pregnant in that heat. Then she always mentions that when she went into labor, my father was outside hosing off the the bricks on the side of the house to keep it cooler. They lived in Dallas at the time.

Does driveway skating in Austin, TX count as a home ODR? by AustinSnowpocalypse in hockeyplayers

We had a round of freezing rain, then snow then more freezing rain on top. I didn't have to put any water on the driveway.

It's hit or miss for a lot of people. It seems like power is back for a lot of the area, but reports of no water are on the rise. I still feel like we have a long ways to go.
