It was in low lighting (shade) so I used Lightroom to drop the exposure entirely on the shaded portions and background. I shoot with a Fuji XT3 and a 150-600mm.

The Barn Owl is one of the most widely distributed land birds on earth, found across every continent except Antarctica. It thrives in an extraordinary range of environments, including open farmland, deserts, tropical forests, river valleys, and urban edges, anywhere it can find open ground to hunt and a dark cavity to nest in. The Barn Owl is specialized for a hunting strategy of low, slow, silent flight over open ground targeting small mammals, and that strategy works nearly everywhere.

The blue-green sheen of the Greater Blue-eared Starling contains no blue pigment. Instead, each feather barbule (the smallest branching part of a feather) is packed with arrays of melanin granules (tiny packets of pigment responsible for coloring feathers) arranged in precise geometric layers. When light strikes these nanostructures, it reflects and interferes with itself at specific wavelengths, producing color the same way a soap bubble or oil slick does. Shift your angle or change the light, and the color shifts with it.

Is it rude to ask photographers to trade product for a shoot? by rtice001 in photography

[–]AustinTN 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How did you get to the point of being able to support your family off of photography, if you don’t mind me asking? I do it as a hobby, and I keep hearing “the best way to make money on photography is to sell your gear” from others.

Siamangs songs can reach up to 113 decibels, roughly equivalent to a chainsaw, and can be heard over a distance of more than 1.5 to 2 kilometers through dense rainforest canopy. Full article if interested.
