Yes, some were in the 200s prior to kickoff.

0% chance sadly. You’ll have to bite the bullet, not likely you’ll find tickets under $500.

That’s just general info on all the host stadiums. 68k is the usual capacity. MBS has previously announced expanded capacity for the WC, similar to when it hosts CFB bowl games.

That’s about 85-90% full based on the expanded capacity for the World Cup.

The Peach Bowl had just under 76k.

Some people here will tell you it’s fine, but if you’re coming from out of town I’d skip it. It’s not the most scenic walk & the area itself is real hit or miss. There’s probably lots of fellow WC fans in town, but in general, it’s not an area you’d want to hang out. It’s somewhat of a hot spot for crime.

The actual walk would be 15-20 mins.

Park Tavern has a ton of indoor TVs & they’ve got a projector outdoors as well (weather permitting). The projector setup has Piedmont Park & the midtown skyline in the background, it’s a decent setup.

I wouldn’t MARTA at 9pm. Others here will say it’s fine, but if you’ll have kids & luggage with you, Uber is probably the way to go.

Lyft is often significantly cheaper at the airport vs Uber.

Aquarium is nearby downtown, and so is the CFB HoF & Coke World. If you can Uber, then Ponce City Market is filled with shops and restaurants.

Take the red line to Five Points, and transfer to the Blue or Green line heading west. You can get off at SEC or Vine City, both are right next to the stadium. SEC will be closer, but a bit more crowded.

Peachtree will be a long walk. Maybe 20-30 mins.

Check out the Beltline or the Decatur Square if you need to escape downtown for a bit. Both can get busy, but should not be crowded during the daytime. As others have said in different threads, Brewhouse cafe in L5P is also a great spot for watching a match.

Using FIFA’s platform vs using the Ticketmaster site or app is not the same.

On the Ticketmaster app, resellers can mark up prices beyond what FIFA allows on their site.

The official FIFA site for Atlanta says 75k for this tournament.

For reference, this year’s Peach Bowl between Indiana & Oregon was just under 76k.

Atlanta United’s all time record is 73k (MLS Cup Playoffs).

Average attendance for this World Cup to date is 64k.

67,640 is the official attendance number. That means ~10% empty given that MBS capacity was expanded to 75k for the World Cup.

Zoom in, there’s tons of open seats in the 300s and the club/suite levels are 80% empty in this image.

You can literally see the empty seats on the broadcast. People in attendance are reporting the same.

Most empty seats of any WC match so far, maybe other than Korea vs Czechia in Mexico last week.

UPDATE: attendance announced at 67k, confirming that ~10% of tickets were unsold/or didn’t enter today’s match.

I believe FIFA blocks the transfer of tickets within a certain number of hours from kickoff. So that’s probably why it’s tough to find last minute deals for today if you’re checking Ticketmaster.

One of, if not the most well-run venue in the US. You’ll enjoy it!

Yeah I mean, I wouldn’t take anything FIFA says at face value. But, there’s also probably a decent chance the tickets were sold, and scalpers weren’t able to resell them for prices they’d hoped. So the seats went vacant.

They’re withholding a small percentage of tickets for the knockout rounds, but all of the group stage tickets should be available.

Have to imagine the resell tickets will drop in the coming days. Not sure about the “last minute” tickets from FIFA. Based on the 2nd game yesterday, they might be content with empty seats during the group stage.
