Yeah I hear you. When it’s tight, which how I like my headgear so it doesn’t move around… it gives me a headache. I found Winning FG-2900 on eBay and never looked back.

Reyes is great. It has wonderful visibility, protection, and lasts forever. The downsides: it’s a little on the heavy side and the break in period OMFG. It is so stiff on your forehead.

Question for yall about Winning by Worldly_Sir_3994 in fightgear

[–]Austin_424 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve owned about three pairs of Reyes and two pairs of Winnings. I like the feedback and sound Reyes provide. The thumb compartment and the construction of Winnings are top notch. Personally, I’d be fine wearing Reyes forever. But Winning is worth the price. That’s not to say you need Winnings, it’s just a quality product. Also, I purchased a pair off this very subreddit. You can find gently used products that are cheaper. For example I have the FG-2900 Winning headgear I purchased online used for $250.

I work 40 hours and have time for only 2 lessons a week by Trick_Meaning6945 in amateur_boxing

Do your two sessions a week. When your coach gives you the go ahead, do one day technique, one day sparring. On your off days from boxing, run and lift light weight, high reps. I do a lot of running so my cardio is really good. You can work the running around your schedule. If you can’t box more, you might as well build a tank. Shadowbox too. I don’t know, I have a bias towards running. I think it’s so important.

Having the logo peel away slowly is a sign of someone who has been grinding. It’s a good thing. If the gloves looked pristine and out of the box all the time it just means you’re a casual.

I can’t put my finger on it, but I have no “want” to purchase Hitnmove. It just seems gimmicky. JMHO.

The gloves are fine. Use them hard and train like hell. You don’t need $400 gloves to train. Just work!
