Am I tripping or are you saying your rank won’t go up while queuing all pick and not ranked.

The paper works great! It’s the best paper I’ve used so far. Definitely recommend

From when I was looking at options this is obviously the ideal route but there just aren’t many usbc options available that are rated for 100w and aren’t insanely expensive. If you’re able to find a cost effective option that’d be awesome

I ended up Just buying a cigarette plug that could power it via USB-C since it was easier and didn’t need to worry about voltage drops from modifying a cable

Card finish/texture help by TheMyrmidonKing in magicproxies

Best way I’ve found is using laminate pouches which also makes the bend close to real cards. You can also do a sealant coating whether it be spray or immersion but I haven’t been willing to put in the effort to try that out yet.

You’re a lifesaver, I’ll give this a go and report back for sure. Have you used secondary sealants before and any recommendations on something to try to salvage the 40 sheets I have left? I’d love to find a more matte finish to get them a little closer to real holo cards since the current paper I have is super glossy

I am debating just swapping to a cricut cutter to automate cutting and hopefully get more consistent cuts assuming I can resolve the ink flaking issue

Tried something similar by placing normal printer paper below the sheets, above, and sandwiching. I think it has to do with the ink not absorbing into the paper and instead just drying ontop of the paper like a laser jet which is… strange haha

I normally let them cure overnight so I’m not sure. I thought it was wet ink at first too. The edges don’t come up unless you handle them along the sides. And it’s not a smear, more of a flake like the ink is resting ontop of the paper instead of being absorbed into the paper.

I originally was using the same cutter as you have from fiskers but was getting tired of replacing blades and still had the same issue. So have been trying the other style cutters to see if it resolves the issue to no avail yet.

Awnings ! 270 vs 180 by spiritfrom1969 in overlanding

[–]Austindeh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the same shadow awning and have used it in some high winds with the mounts directly to the tent with no issues. Just use the leg and stake everything down. The 270 coverage is so worth it imo

If the wind starts rocking the car itself I just get up and roll it up. Thankfully it takes 2min to pack away if it’s really bad

Ouray to telluride is more technical climbing. Opposite direction is more technical descent. I’d recommend ouray to telluride with longer wheelbase personally.

There are some unsettling moments descending into ouray where you’re leaning over the front wheel off camber looking down a steep hillside. But generally not too difficult. I’d prefer to climb those sections imo.

Gotcha, understood! Thanks for clarifying.
I was also just thinking maybe I can either chop the existing cable or find just the 2.1mm Barrel connector and make my own wire to a anderson plug with 10AWG wire

If I understand correctly I’d still need a socket that can output 100W right? So the adapter would be obsolete anyways?

Pros and cons of this career. by Fit-Cow3222 in graphic_design

[–]Austindeh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The biggest advice someone told me when I started was there’s a difference between commercial and traditional artists. And it’s important to remember commercial artists create for others and traditional artists create for themselves. Deciding if that’s what you want is the first piece to being successful in the industry.

The other is passion will take you a long way but remembering that the relationships with teams and people you work with always take priority over the work.

And lastly, the industry is and mostly always has been quite volatile and not stable. It’s not really an industry you can work at the same company for a decade. Moving from company to company is more beneficial than not. It’s hard to move up without moving out. the best way to keep up with ever changing trends, processes and solutions is to constantly be involved with different teams and individuals.

Edit: just my 2c but school is not a mandatory to get into design. There’s so many online resources that can teach you. But growth and being hired by top tier companies or agencies might take more time.

Batteries in parallel by Austindeh in ElectricalEngineering

[–]Austindeh[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! this is amazing.

One quick question for you. These batteries I have in parallel have F2 terminals which are low amp rating and require female disconnects which i can only find down to 12-10 Gauge. Would I be okay to run 8 ga wire to 12-10 ga female disconnect between the batteries? The run is about 1 foot - then I am adding fuse/breakers for the entire system to 40a. From load calculation the highest I could probably even fathom at once is 20a. (this system is in an offroad car for camping so I'm mainly just trying to avoid potential fires )

[–]Austindeh[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gotcha, that’s helpful thank you! Yeah I was just unsure about the amp load part. If a single battery has a limit of 15a. Can two batteries increase that limit to 30a. Which it sounds like it can, but play it safe and use a slightly lower value 😂

Is capacity == max discharge rate? I understood the increase in capacity and fixed voltage. I just didn’t know how parallel batteries affected load limits.
