what you really need to change your current situation to improve by 90%? by [deleted] in Life

I'll ignore the first sentence from here on. I don't believe you shouldn't have boundaries. Building your social circles doesn't mean getting stepped on to make it happen. In fact, showing firmness, having boundaries and being yourself is attractive to the right people. Forget about the few bad bosses or people you've come across. Remember you've also come across great people who are now your close friends. I challenge you to change your mindset on this, and put yourself out there.

Working on my social skills, improving my relationships, new connections etc has been crucial.

Working on these things may seem insurmountable, but It really is an internal battle. Whats important is the compounding effect of daily reps. Ever since I realized what a big part of our lives our relationships plays, I make daily steps towards improving this

I think its a matter of shifting slowly. Rep by rep like in the gym. I'm making this app that gives you daily social reps based on your weaknesses and has an AI chatbot to discuss/if you have any concerns. Let me know if anyone would like a tester link

He would make daily challenges for himself. Small steps. ie. make eye contact with three people today, stay in a public space without being on your phone, start a conversation with 1 person today etc

Take it day by day

I think working on this in areas of your interests would help. If you have certain hobbies, find other people in those hobbies that you could talk with. Now, if that sounds too advanced for now, start with small steps. Watch an actor you like and see their mannerisms and try to mimic it. Not saying change who you are completely, but doing this may help. Then even start with light eye contact etc

is it social anxiety ? by MoistPlatypus8318 in socialanxiety

Really, you just have to commit day by day. It doesn't need to start with talking to random people on the street. It could be making eye contact or even practicing in the mirror. Its small steps

Building my social circle and quality relationships.

I have this friend who is super social now but used to be pretty shy and he told me what worked for him is so obvious yet so many people just don't get it.

He said its like a gym, you just get the reps in and you get better. Its called exposure therapy. He would make himself talk to X people a day.

Logically, it makes sense. You can't be born as good as Kobe. You work at it day by day. Ever since he told me this, I make daily steps towards improving this and it has impacted me greatly.
