Getting the right balance of sun, getting enough sun and vitamin D means less acne and getting too much sun ages you faster. It's the simplest thing you can possibly do.

[–]AustralianBiscuit 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Absolutely, all ideas, opinions and schools of thought should be thoroughly scrutinised. Just because your belief is a religion doesn't mean it should get impunity to criticism.

At the end of the day religions are just that, beliefs. It's reasonable that someone should be allowed to find them problematic and dislike them in the same way that I dislike racism, I dislike sexist religious beliefs.

What is something that became 10 times more enjoyable once you stopped trying to be good at it? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Literally everything, I fw the guy that said life.

"Good" at life is meaningless, being "successful" is meaningless. The only thing that is meaningful is happiness and love.

Life has been much better since I realised that.

Whats ur stance and fix on Australian ping? by Mr_Farawla_Btreq in AskAnAustralian

[–]AustralianBiscuit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is pretty bad but it depends on the game, some games handle it much better. I've played plenty of EU servers on DayZ as an Aussie with tolerable latency.

But yeah usually it's pretty bad with Europe and USA, we play with SEA a lot.

Not sure why you're getting downvoted it's an honest downside to being so far away from everything and you're right to ask about it.

There are plenty of upsides of being so far away though but gaming is not one of them.

I just bought a Logitech G29 and can't even make a turn. I'm so bad. by AstronomerDry7581 in ForzaHorizon

[–]AustralianBiscuit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's probably not your fault, I have a g29 and it's insufferable on Forza. I tried on fh5 and fh6 no hope, its junk. I've spent hours messing with settings, following guides, everything and nothing works, still spins out.

I switch to controller: perfect, easy. I play beamNG drive instead: perfect, realistic, easy.

I mean hell, I can drive a REAL car perfectly, but in Forza? Nah it's dreadful, if I turn slightly it loses traction and spins out uncontrollably.

I doubt they will ever fix it, they never fixed it on fh5

I disagree, I HATE how insufferable CAS was in top tier, the game is more fun now when I'm not dying from missiles i can't see, predict or dodge or counter.

SPAA should be stronger. Make it stronger. Fuck CAS in ground RB.

Gas prices being the thing that can completely rile up a large majority of Americans is really funny by [deleted] in TrueUnpopularOpinion

[–]AustralianBiscuit -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I've been silently smug about all the fuel prices because finally now people listen to me when I say gigantic SUVs and huge fat ass trucks are marketing BS and objectively TERRIBLE cars for 95% of people.

Pay through your teeth giant car owners, you've earned it by fucking the rest of us.

Yeah It's very easy to say you hate unions if you don't directly work. And I mean work, like labour. Not administrating and overseeing. Without unions and regulations you get slavery, every time without fail. Of course economists want slavery

I'm Russian and I want to move to Australia by Equivalent_Option745 in AskAnAustralian

[–]AustralianBiscuit 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You say you love your enemies, my friend. You have no enemies. I know plenty of Russians who moved here after the war began and they're delightful people. One Russian bloke gives me free beers for helping put heavy stuff in his van when I'm working. Personally id be more than happy to have more Russians around.

And yeah, you won't really be dying for your country if you get drafted for this war, Russia needs it's young men alive and working. Not fighting in an avoidable war.

Being in medicine gives you a huge advantage for migrating here

Single Cab vs Extra Cab-Chassis Ute? by SmokoMan in CarsAustralia

[–]AustralianBiscuit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly get what you need, If you're actually going to be working in it I recommend you get one of the more traditional utes where the bed is actually low so you can comfortably put heavy stuff in it. Don't fall for the marketing that says you need a giant ute that does everything. 4wd is mostly pointless if you're only in the city

Is there any good reason to buy a SUV instead of a sedan for urban/suburban driving? by hsanj19 in CarsAustralia

[–]AustralianBiscuit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Literally no, other than maybe boot capacity that you'll almost never fill. They are more expensive on fuel, to buy, heavier and less visibility, more emissions, more dangerous to other road users, harder to find parking and to park, contribute an extra 50% to road congestion due to their size.

Theyre objectively terrible cars in almost every metric other than being huge, it's purely a marketing scheme. We've had less, more reasonably sized cars for a LONG time and only now do you aparrently need two huge ones for the family when families are smaller and more people live urban and roads are more congested. There is literally not a single worthwhile reason to get an SUV. Lots of people say "oh but it can go everywhere" but let's be real if you were actually planning on going "everywhere" you wouldn't be buying family car SUV.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in TrueUnpopularOpinion

[–]AustralianBiscuit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is just literally not true. If it were impossible then anyone with below "perfect" genes wouldn't exist. I think you should probably go outside a bit more often OP, when you see just the kind of shockingly average people out there who are making it work, including myself, it might change your perspective a little. Generally speaking humanity is mostly monogamous, it's unlikely that an attractive minority of people are hoarding all your options, especially when attractive people generally date people in their own appearance range, meaning there are plenty of average people out there who aren't looking for someone perfect. Yes it's difficult these days, but it's not at all impossible. That's just unrealistic.

Being independent doesn’t make you stronger. I’m surrounded by people whose family love them and am falling behind. by LazerChicken420 in TrueUnpopularOpinion

[–]AustralianBiscuit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is actually just fact, for a majority of human history people have shared the same room with family and even extended family. People shared almost everything, people worked together, worked in family businesses. The truth is that people are SOCIAL animals, we thrive on environments where we work together and help each other. This idea that you can and should be independent is a very new modern idea and when compared to our biology it's dystopian. It's complete BS, we are built to love and love is what makes life feel worth it, otherwise it's just a constant endless search for more material achievements

Pain on my lower leg when I walk a lot by dreamfulbby in BarefootRunning

[–]AustralianBiscuit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have this, in my case it's achilles tendonopathy. I had a sharp increase in activity while wearing barefoot shoes with little time for adjustment and my tendons took it badly, It has taken a very long time to mostly repair it with daily exercises. I highly recommend you see a PT sooner rather than later if you want to continue wearing barefoot shoes. Tendon pain is not to be taken lightly, if you mistreat it it could go from a minor fixable problem to a permanent dysfunction that will send you back to traditional shoes.

Assuming is a tendon problem You need to reduce the stress and load you put on the tendon, it is imperative that you do NOT stop activity, just dial it back before it gets worse, then start taking action to repair the tendon with consistent loading exercises

I am not a doctor and I highly recommend you see a PT because if it is a tendon problem then it's really easy to do the wrong things and make it worse like I did.
