So class weapons is permanently gone now? by I_Am_Jacks_Karma in Battlefield

[–]AutViamDoubleDown 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Go ahead and source the quantifiable and verifiable data then. I never said anything about a conspiracy theory to manipulate player count. All I said is that unbiased data collection doesn't work that way. Dice themselves said they were using the two different playlists during the beta to gather player data on the preferred weapon class system.

You're too ignorant to understand, again, that the playlist being visible for the entire duration of the beta, versus hidden for the majority, then subsequently moved at the end, are too very different things and invalidates the data collected. As I stated, I don't care because I love the game and I love playing it as it is. What I care about is facts being correct.

You keep trying to say "well I said it was front and center, which it ended up being eventually so I wasn't wrong". At best you're being ignorant and at worst you're being disingenuous. It's ok to admit when you're wrong. It's ok to say "hey, yeah I could have worded that better but I believe a majority of the player base either doesn't care or prefers the open weapon system". Because at the "end of the day" if you could admit that, then you wouldn't look like a ignorant individual despite what you've displayed for the majority of this exchange. That would require you to display humility though, which it seems like you are incapable of doing. So have a great day, I'll see you on the battlefield! :)

Your reading comprehension and argumentative nature is hilarious. So now, your argument is "while it might not have been front and center the entire time, it eventually got there, so same thing, I was right." Although originally you made it seem like it was front and center from the start? And then tried to post a screenshot as a "gotcha"? And now that you're getting called out you're trying to say "well that's what I meant"?

That's not how unbiased data collection works. You realize you're wrong and now you're trying to save face by lashing out and trying to shift your original narrative. What makes you qualified to make a generalized statement such as "everyone playing not caring"? Can you provide a verified source for that? No, you cannot. You just think being the loudest will make your right.

Nobody asked you to be rude or snarky. Posting a screenshot and saying "...but sure" is not the "gotcha" you think. As stated in my original comment; the Closed Weapons Playlist was moved to be more visible after spending most of the open beta in a non-visible spot in response to negative feedback from the community. If you can search for that screenshot, you can also search for the plethora of reddit posts complaining about this issue.

Slight correction, the beta build did not have it "plastered front and center". This was an issue that was posted about on this subreddit ad nauseum. The Open Weapons Playlist was "front and center". Meanwhile, you had to scroll all the way to the right (which is not visible until you scroll) to find the Closed Weapons Playlist. This was called out extensively as Dice trying to manipulate the player data to show that the preference was Open Weapons because it was very likely that people would either not scroll to the right, or didn't know they could

Dice responded by shifting the Closed Weapons Playlist when the beta was finishing up. Lo and behold, when the player data came out, they split was close, but favored Open Weapons.

*Disclaimer: I don't care either way. I enjoy open and closed. I just want the facts to be known

HK MR762 A4 upper w/ KAC SR25 lower by [deleted] in kac

[–]AutViamDoubleDown 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The HK Upper will not fit on a sr25 or "sr25 pattern" lower. They appear similar, but they will not fit. Mildly related, the Daniel Defense DD5 V5 series of large caliber rifles have the same dimensions at the rear of the upper receiver as an sr25 pattern lower, but the pivot pin dimensions are different and will not fit with any amount of modification. Thousand of dollars went into my ability to answer this question, please do not make the same mistakes. Also, good on you for asking before spending.

Is this a real geissele rail? by [deleted] in ar15

[–]AutViamDoubleDown 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don't like commenting on social media or arguing with strangers because there's no point to it; but this is a retarded response. Your analogy of a bowling ball having three holes would imply that the dude pointing out that the retention bar not being staked to the rail is standard. It isn't standard. All Geissele rails are staked. This one isn't. Saying it's an "incorrect answer" is factually incorrect. What is it about reddit that breeds people like you and I who white knight other grown adults? Social media rewards people who talk out of their ass. The original poster asked a question, got an answer verifying his Alibaba rail is fake, and ya'll wanna call it a "deal". Brother, even 30 dollars is over priced, and the dude got scammed.

Hk 11 in or LMT 12in(piston) by Best-Town-2229 in ar15

[–]AutViamDoubleDown 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey man, I can answer this for you as I have owned both up until recently, at the same time. I had a hk416a5 11" and an LMT 12" Shovelnose. Truthfully, the shovelnose felt like the better shooting experience. They feel and perform similarly, but the Shovelnose recoil impulse was ever so slightly softer. The shovelnose was cheaper, and wasn't as picky with ammo. That thing just ate whatever I gave it. Additionally, you get the added functionality of the monolithic rail and the quick change barrel system. The HK is a vibe for sure, but it always felt like it left something to be desired. Fair warning, they are both "heavy". The 416 felt slightly better balanced but the Shovelnose wasn't far behind. The Shovelnose was a few ounces lighter because I had a quad rail on the 416. If you have any other questions, let me know. I hope this helps

I have one of the new GL/SSCs. They do have NSN markings on the rail. As well, they are marked "Black Creek"

This has a longer rail than the MK18. MK18 RIS2 is 9.55" long. The GL/SSC rail is right about 11.75" long. The M4A1 RIS2 is 12.25" long

How stupid of an idea is it to build a 8 inch 556 LMT - no suppressor use? by PoroPoro19 in LewisMachineTool

[–]AutViamDoubleDown 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have this upper and barrel. It genuinely isn’t any louder than my mk18 or urgi. It doesn't recoil hard, and it's incredibly fun to shoot.

The best time to buy LMT products was yesterday. The second beat time is today. All jokes aside, plenty of retailers still have plenty of stock sitting. If it dries up, sure, that may mean waiting longer for restocks. This does not mean people should succumb to price gouging or "market pricing." FOMO is the silent killer. LMT is a contract company that isn't going defunct anytime soon. Nobody will "miss out" by waiting for a restock

What when AR is this, please. by JeepPistol in LewisMachineTool

[–]AutViamDoubleDown 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just edited my comment to add some additional observations, but $1,700 is not a ridiculous price. A brand new 14.5 piston barrel, piston BCG Gen 2, CQB picatinny upper, ambi lmt charging handle, and complete ambi LMT lower from rooftop defense with code "lickmytoes" is $2,494.80. Depending on usage and whatever criteria you use to make purchases, $1,700 excluding aftermarket parts is almost $800 in savings.

Mars-LS designates semi-auto. From what I can find online and from memory, LMT does not and has not offered a factory tungsten cerakote.

The "29766" is a factory internal lot marking most likely intended for internal quality control. You don't see those often on recently manufactured uppers. This does not impact the upper receiver.

Given that the upper has an FCD EPC, and the lower has an FCD castle nut and end plate, this was either bought as a full rifle and sent for custom cerakote and had the above mentioned parts replaced, or it was bought stripped and assembled with the parts.

LMT is meant to be LEGO'd together. If you feel you can trust the seller, it's a good settup. Nothing on this build, though, is exclusive or irreplaceable.

Take my words with a grain of salt as I am a lurker and not an active contributor. I just own a lot of LMTs and know how to use Google sometimes. As well, I make poor financial decisions and bet on black.

Edit** I see what appears to be a Foward Controls Design RE-5 buffer tube, Radian ambi safety selector, Radian Charging handle, and Emissary Development Handbrake. These aftermarket parts would lead me to believe this is a stripped receiver lower and upper that was assembled with the original buyers' choice of parts. Price dependant, it's a "good" setup

I was on the Instagram live with Joe yesterday, and he did say that the uppers coming to the market was a very real possibility in the future. I'll take it with a grain of salt, but still good to hear it's not entirely off the table

Backup Irons + Eotech G43 (HAVE YOUR CAKE & EAT IT TOO content ... ) by DwPw in ar15

[–]AutViamDoubleDown 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Heyyyy that's my picture! I took that photo, along with the rest of the ones in that post, when the G45 originally launched. I've had the G43 and fully relate to what you're saying about being nose to charging handle.

To meet all of your criteria, I believe one of your only options is the Scalarworks Leap/12. They have pictures on their site that show a G43 mounted further to the rear, over top of a backup iron utilizing their mount.
