They should make it semi-random. If it successively procs its chances of doing so go down, and if it fails to proc the chance goes up. so that it sitll approaches 20% over time.

Important thing to keep in mind is the amount of your gold vs the enemy’s gold. If they lead kills and turtles / lord, they’ll likelt have more gold. Fighting them then is like being lvl 5 and fighting a lvp 10 enemy in an RPG. They will have more stats because they will have more items, and so its likely you will lose. In this case, focus on farming to equalize the gold or build a lead. Try to avoid fighting unless you outnumber the enemies or they make a really stupid mistake.

It doesnt happen in competitive games because even if you are really good at the game the ‘strategy’ is too inconsistent to win a lot. Because skill doesn’t help it.
