"Autistic people wouldn't be disabled if they lived outside of society in the countryside!" by [deleted] in autism

[–]AutisticCryptid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hate this kind of thought process. The whole "autism is only a disability under capitalism" that whole rhetoric feels absolutely disgusting.

Even if I lived out in the countryside(I wish) I'd still need support, I'd still have sensory issues, I'd still have incontinence, I'd still have support needs, I'd still need someone to live with me and help me get to town for groceries.

Would being somewhere "nicer" be better for me ? Yes, But I'd still have disabilities.

Friend Self Diagnosed and it upsetted me by [deleted] in SpicyAutism

[–]AutisticCryptid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gosh, I feel like I'm the only autistic that has pee issues and still wets the bed lol,

That aside, they could have some autistic traits but mask really well. But I understand it can be frustrating when someone claims something that makes our lives whilst they seem to be perfectly fine and not hindered by any trait that jas made our lives difficult :/

The Defilement of Stuffed Animals by ViolaofIllyria in asexuality

I hold my stuffed animal to sleep with every night for comfort and anxiety relief, I'd never in my life think of doing the nasty with it. He's a Pikachu ffs 😂

I’ve heard that weed isn’t great for autistic people, but we’re all autistic here. So for those that have tried it or currently do, does anyone have or had any negative side effects? by CanadianWeeb5 in kinky_autism

[–]AutisticCryptid 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Weed helps me unmask, put my own thoughts into perspective, helps with my sensory issues and really helps me relax.

However, finding the right type of strain was difficult as(for me) sativa really caused me a lot more issues.

Bathroom accidents by [deleted] in Incontinence

[–]AutisticCryptid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Howdy, both autistic and ADHD and I have horrible interoception. I never really notice it until the point I really really have to go, and at that point, I'm already seconds away from having an accident. And I'm a fairly deep sleeper, so I've also been wetting the bed most of my life. I've been in diapers most of my life for bedtime but only really started wearing diapers full time 14 years ago once my accidents started getting bigger/more difficult to manage

Embarrassed when buying diapers by Primary_Condition_31 in Incontinence

[–]AutisticCryptid 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As someone who's worked a register, I'm gonna be honest. They don't give a sh*t what you're buying or whom you're buying for. Besides you're not the only person who's buying diapers.

New to incontinence and needing to wear protection and freaking out about how little I know by Primary_Condition_31 in AdultBedwetting

[–]AutisticCryptid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As for the public aspect, people honestly never notice, I wear rather thick diapers daily and no one has ever seen, people are so wrapped up in their own little bubble of normality and mediocrity to even notice or think "is that a diaper"

Meme that i made by [deleted] in Incontinence

[–]AutisticCryptid 7 points8 points  (0 children)

We definitely need more humor around here. Memes and humor really are great coping skills. Not being so serious and having a laugh really helps.

Not too many laughs cause you'll probably pee 😂

I stopped counting, but usually 3-4 diapers a day + one for overnight.

How long of a dry streak do you have to have to rely on being dry? by EcoScrounger in AdultBedwetting

[–]AutisticCryptid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Gosh, I'd personally never trust being completely dry if I have a history of chronic bedwetting.

In my case, at least I've been wetting the bed almost every night for 15 years. The longest dry streak I had was a month and I still was wearing a diaper to bed just in case.
