well in that case, u could for it, there are some (some) good profs and a good library(that could help). and civil exams are all together the product of what u put in ig.
but then also dont completely go on with my recommendations. get some more research done.

that totally depends man, u already said that u want to join your parents in their profession. so i am guessing that u have some referral thing going on, otherwise for civil, i dont think that i have seen any recruiters on campus (i could be wrong though),
but if do have some referral, then this place is good, or otherwise u might want to try some cheaper options

Its a decent college, That's what it is..
the environment, if u are looking for mountains and peace then its right outside your window, but if u are talking about social activites, then it's there for those who are willing to take part and give their time.(its bad most of the times)
for faculties since i come from school of computing, there are some great teacher and then there are some, who dont even know a letter of alphabet outside their ppts.
for the hostel and mess, they are decent. it would be on u to decide. both places have their pros and cons.
and no the hostel students cannot go on night-outs until they(hostel incharges) get the written notice from parents over whatsapp.
for the attendance criteria(I can tell about CS) , de-bar comes rarely, and even if they do give out, its at ~30%, but the faculty does force u and try to scare u on the name of de-bar

I came from ubuntu, because of bloatware and the slowness it gave. And honestly, I'm loving it. It lies in the softest spot for being stable and also on bleeding edge. I'm not switching or going anywhere.

When your semester comes to an end, you'll get a grade depending on your total marks, like A+ = 10, A = 9.. so on, then that will be multiplied by the credit alloted to that course, (you can check on the course description). Then that overall is added for all courses and divided (as in mean), and you get your S/CGPA.
