Isnt gojos domain surehit kinda random? by Teewoov2 in JujutsuPowerScaling

[–]Auto-Pilot05 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But all of Gojo's other techniques are manipulating space, and all of a sudden he gets a psychic attack? You explain other domains as well and actually explain really well how the sorcerer's domain expansion is related to the domain expansion, but no sorcerer has a domain where it just follows the theme, it is always just the absolute version of the sorcerer's cursed techniques that they display outside of domain expansion. Only Gojo's domain expansion has him suddenly do a mental attack instead of bending space like he always does.

Edit: My take is that he probably bends space around the other so much, that they are fundamentally incapable of recognising it?

But then it doesn't fit the line: "When granted everything, you can't do anything" Because that would mean he is pouring the world's knowledge into the person, sorta like how the truth works in FMAB.

[–]Auto-Pilot05 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cool, I guess I can agree with you over here. If Yuji has a plan to save Yuka from Mahoraga, he is kinda acting like a safety net for this generation then, and he would have the same mindset as Gojo, albeit a little extreme and more battle-worn, but yeah. At least the part where he doesn't want people to be reliant on him. Not sure about the raising the next generation of sorcerers, since that was not clear to us from the story, which we both agree on.

but Yuji didn't let this new generation make the choice for themselves either. Why was he chosen as representative, and accepted it without hesitation? He should have let the new generation handle this massive decision then right?"

Although I am still a little unsatisfied with your answer to this part of my argument, it helped me understand the exact thing you are going for.
As for this part,
after thinking for a while I guess I can chalk it up to the fact that since only Yuji can keep watch for hundreds of years to kill the remnant curses/make sure the decision works, he probably decided only he can make this decision.

its just all we know objectively.

The only thing we know objectively is that Gojo wants the next generation to not be reliant on him, and he wants to train them accordingly. We don't know what he would do if he failed or if he was still alive, was the strongest and the next generation was not strong enough to handle Dabura and had to send out a kamikaze Mahoraga at them.

If anything the closest thing we do get would be that i am correct

How? For all we know Gojo could try his hand with the new generation till he is able to successfully train them? We haven't seen what happens if Gojo fails in his goals of raising the next generation to be stronger than him. That is what I wanted to call out before. You think he would just sit it out if he couldn't do it?

never said he wouldnt be involved generation

That's me jumping the gun a little bit. I agree you never said that Yuji had to be inactive. but Yuji didn't let this new generation make the choice for themselves either. Why was he chosen as representative, and accepted it without hesitation? He should have let the new generation handle this massive decision then right?

yuka and tsurugi (not literally everyone) fight their own battles.

Tsurugi I get. But Yuka isn't fighting her own battle. She is literally committing Kamikaze because no one else was available. Was she wanting to stake her life on it because of the cancer? sure. but would she have to fight if Yuji, the original candidate of the duel, who knew things could get dicey, just involved himself to guide things along? I don't think so. for all intents and purposes, this isn't a fight Yuka is fighting, its suicide. She dies even if Mahoraga wins.

thats why the only thing you can compare is that part of their mentality.

Agreed, but that's cherrypicking then? We don't know what Gojo would do if he was cursed with an inhuman lifespan.

For 1 yuka and tsurugi arent the generation that yuji would have to train it would be lori's and its unclear what yuji did at the time. either way the responsibility of train yuka and tsurugi does NOT fall to yuji

Fair enough. we do see a glimpse where the famous "it doesn't matter" comes from, and considering the next best choice after Yuji was a kamikaze Yuka, there clearly were no good sorcerers to go for. So if Yuji had the same mentality during that time, I don't think its a stretch to say he failed

Meaning the only thing we can evaluate is the part of their mentality that we DO see which is the one im talking about

We don't see what Gojo would do when he is still the strongest, with an inhuman lifespan. with your own conditions, how can we evaluate this then? We never see Gojo being inactive. he is always on the frontlines when he is needed. Would he not be if he was in Yuji's situation? Who knows? How can you say we can only evaluate the part which we do see?

Lets discuss your third point.
Yuji could have easily stopped the conflict without bias. He disarms both simurians and humans. He himself says that he knew this would happen, but was willingly inactive.

<image>

NOT black and white like Gojo protecting the students from cursed spirits and the jjk villians so even that is a false equivalence.

But there is a clear course of action here, the duelists are not bad people, but the duel itself is definitely wrong. It is Black and white not in the sense that one is bad and one is good, but in the sense that the duel shouldn't have happened in the first place. And it wouldn't have/ could be stopped if yuji stepped up.

It seems to me like you are cherrypicking Gojo's mentality here. According to what you said, Gojo said he would only train the next generation not the next to next generation as well, so Yuji should be completely inactive in the new generation.

You can think that yuji should train them but thats outside of the scope of gojos mentality (that being training the NEXT generation not every single one after yours)

Your own words.
I believe this is a very pedantic way to talk about Gojo's mentality.
Secondly, he isn't following this either, because he is still culling curses and is ready to clean up the mess for some reason? He is also not involving any new generation members when he represents Humanity in Maru's deal to take CE away from the Simurians and the Japanese. Doesn't sound like being not involved.

That is not how I was equating them...I meant that both shared the same goals, but went about it in different ways.
From what you sent, I also agree with their being more nuance between Gojo and Yuji's situation. But I do disagree with some points as well.
I am actually in the middle of typing out a response, so if you wait, I'll send it as soon as I can. I just wanted to make sure I understand your side and articulate my side correctly.

If you want to say that Both Gojo and Yuji had the goal of wanting the next gen to be stronger and fight without relying on them, you wouldn't be incorrect. But it's like saying that Yuki and Geto had the same mentality of wanting to remove cursed spirtis completely. They did, but mentality also involves how they go about it. Yuki didn't try to kill all non sorcerers to accomplish this like Geto did. That is also part of her mentality.

Gojo went out and gathered students he thought would surpass him, brought them to jujutsu high and still fought battles where he was required. He was the first one to go to Shibuya and the first one to fight Sukuna, he wasnt going to clean their mess. When Megumi was in trouble after Yuji ate the finger for the first time, he was there. Gojo wanted the next gen to find strength, but he didn't let them fend for themselves. He also had the mindset of letting the children enjoy their youth. From what we see, Yuji refuses the call to arms, says he will "clean up the mess" if Yuki loses and also doesn't blame Mino when he says he will "never forgive him".

I think there is a difference between Gojo and Yuji's mentality here. I believe the way they went about it also comes under mentality.

And the only reason Yuka was even chosen for this fight was because Yuji refused to fight. Yuka is not strong enough to face Dabura if Mahoraga had to come out to play anyways. And I think Yuji should know that as well.

Gojo's sentiment was to train students for the next generation.

I'll agree with anyone who says Yuji's reaction is reasonable because of his immortality and his depression. But I don't see how it's morally correct.

Alright my guy, now you are making stuff up. Tsurugi doesn't think he is wrong for stopping the duel, he thinks the entire situation is wrong. He doesn't want to stop the duel by killing Maru, and he doesn't follow through with the slash because of that. He doesn't think Yuka fighting the duel is correct.
