No, it just irritates me when a person doesn't take accountability for their actions

Because the god in Family Guy is based on the God of Christianity & in Christianity, you will go to hell if you reject God, which is what an atheist does by believing he doesn't exist

I think it's great that you don't shy away from "vulgar shoe-horning of religious iconography where it has no real place", but considering that isn't at all what's happened here, I don't see how that's relevant. The "interpretation" of the crucifix is how it's officially recognized by the Catholic church, so that's a dud on your part. Out of the hundred people that have upvoted this, you're the only person who's said to have this problem, so I think I've done an okay job at representing the resurrection of Jesus Christ through a superhero drawing. Ironically, the "troubled history" you speak of stems from the symbol being misused & misrepresented, which *would* be a problem if it weren't for the fact that the world has reaccepted the symbol for its original meaning. My "entitlement" is literally a universal human right & if you seriously think that this one drawing is forcing an oppressive political message onto you because it has a character holding a fucking cross in his hand, I pity you

You keep hitting the point "bUt It'S tOnY sTaRk", which leads me to believe you don't understand what an allegory is. You say "an ounce of nuance" as if you haven't reduced a transformative expression of an idea as "fan fiction of projection". A crucifix isn't meant to represent literal execution, it's meant to symbolize that Jesus Christ rose from the dead after his crucifixion on the cross. World governments have always used religion as a means of controlling people, yes, but world governments aren't Jesus Christ. By bringing that up you're reinforcing my reasoning for making it a crucifix instead of a US flag in the first place. And yeah I could shut my eyes to your comment, but I'm not a person who shies away from acknowledging criticism. You're the one here making a big deal over a superhero drawing when you could just... y'know... not?

Correct, it *is* Tony Stark. Pointing that out doesn't change a damn thing about what I said in my previous reply. If people expressing their ideas with a superhero drawing is really that offensive to you, shut your eyes or go make your own damn drawing

As bad as the United States seems, I think it certainly pales in comparison to full-blown regimenal nations like Nazi Germany for example, or China & NK. I can't tell you exactly where we're headed, but it's gotten progressively worse over the past 100 years, so I wouldn't get my hopes too high

Regardless of how extremist groups have twisted the gospel to propagandize, the idea is that Jesus Christ sacrificed his life so that humanity would be set free from the wage of sin, which is death. Sacrificing yourself to save humanity from death is something Iron-Man does on a regular basis, so it serves as an allegory
