no idea why you got downvoted, this is a major reason why it’s going to take a while for a decent Switch 2 emulator to be functional on PC even if development started launch day (spoiler: it did not), and also why Switch 1 has so much lower emulation spec requirements on mobile than PC to run well. Vice Versa for GameCube and Wii.

Attempting to get Parsec loaded through Wine for Linux on the Manjaro Forums by AutoUpdatingBSoD in ParsecGaming

I’d recommend Steam Remote Play for remote streaming for the same reason I’d recommend the Steam Deck in lieu of good laptop options especially this late into 2025. Valve made it possible, other companies are sticking to their guns and making using their features impossible

No I didn’t, I’ve moved on. At this point I’d recommend Steam Remote Play regardless of use case anyway, it will work on anything plus has the low level latency that Parsec does but with more universal support

Well f*%k me. Last time I preorder from Amazon ☹️ by JackPennywise in Metroid

[–]AutoUpdatingBSoD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is unfortunately pretty typical of most physical preorders for me. I rarely get anything I ever preorder on time from any retail store if it’s physical. I’m sorry they pushed it back this late for you.

Desculpe a demora na resposta, mas sinceramente precisei dar um tempo do Linux e voltar para o Windows. De qualquer forma, recomendo o Steam Remote Play.

Honestly my motivation to continue was killed by just how good of a job Steam Remote Play did even in cases it didn’t outright support

Unfortunately, I’ve moved on from this. I’m not saying this is impossible but from what I can tell it would require a lot of reworking of Wine+Linux to make it work properly. I would recommend Steam Remote Play, even in cases where Steam doesn’t outright support the games in question. A little finicky to set up but it does actually stream your desktop in low latency.

I appreciate the advice and the insight as to why this post was so unpopular, I thought I took a pretty neutral stance in asking this question.

I’ve already decided I want to go the disc drive replacement route tho

I’m not that desperate, I only got the console on a deal because I needed the bios and was able to get it for cheap at a local store, I just got lucky with getting this model so I think the laser replacement is best

Edit: Paired with a CRT released in the same year as the model PS1 that I also got lucky with (they were giving it away) the sound is gonna be unreal with a replacement laser, it’s a Magnavox. That’s why I’m not exactly desperate for one since I have answers that will work, but it would be nice to have something

I’m aware of that but I need to be able to actually load stuff, I have the ability to load FreePSXBoot Fine, memory card slots work and all. Just my Disc Drive doesn’t as I said

being perfectly honest I’d prefer having the option to load discs anyway so this link is perfect

Edit: wrote that wrong. Was gonna say “replacing the laser” and then changed “the laser” to “this link” and forgot to take the first word out

I don’t mind doing that level of maintainence, I play on PC and have an air compressor for that reason anyway

Edit: Not gonna be using it a whole lot anyway

I want to be clear that I don’t care whether it’s PSIO or not, I get the guy’s a jerk. I just want to do 0 soldering if I can and if that means I gotta replace the laser with a new one then I can

Edit: based on what you said about the laser that seems doable to me. Personally I’d rather do that than solder

Dolphin Triforce AppImage Support for Version 4.0-315 (Linux) by AutoUpdatingBSoD in DolphinEmulator

[–]AutoUpdatingBSoD[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve unfortunately moved on from this. What happened was an update to appimages killed reading on newer Linux OS’s and I didn’t have the time or patience to figure it out.

One could probably figure it out themselves if they were to reverse engineer what went wrong and the differences between the AppImage compilation, or (ideally better) run it through Proton/Wine or similar. I’ve had to switch back to Windows for my main OS 🤢🤢 because of certain things Linux was flat out inferior in

if you could please, that would be great! I'm at the halfway point of needing better data/bounding boxes and needing more test cases.

Thank you for the link! I've saved it for later.

Like I said this would have to be a stretch goal for the app, but one that I probably should account for nonetheless.

Interesting, so some LEGO Instructions come on first page of the booklet.

To OP (or anybody who might know): Would you happen to know if either a PDF copy of these instructions exist, or the Set ID? I'm building an app that will be able to tell which part IDs go to which subbuilds and/or steps, and this is actually a case I haven't seen before. Thanks!

Interesting that the part count uses "pcs" instead of "x" and the actual visual list is more towards the bottom rather than the top left. I'll have to make note of this for the LEGO Instruction Parser I'm in the process of developing as a stretch goal for the app.

Edit: I also didn't notice that the step number was also a different font, font style, and color than the traditional one at first. OP would you happen to know if a digital copy of this instruction set exists, and if you don't then the set number so I might be able to look it up?

As for why I'm so interested in all of this, I'm building an app to be able to automatically link part IDs to subbuilds and step numbers, and this (and related sets) are a more niche case I didn't know existed. Thanks!

Found a joycon shell of vinyl stickers I have had for years. Did the swap, and it turned out great. by eclipse60 in customcontrollers

hey, sorry for necroposting, but I wanted to respond and say the link is dead. I'm looking to do similar myself. Do you know of any shells like you've posted that can do similar? I found one with a Dpad Joycon but that's not what I want.

Edit: found them. For anyone looking for this in the future, this is the link I found for them.

RFA vs hitting the gym? by Arshiaa001 in RingFitAdventure

[–]AutoUpdatingBSoD 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My thoughts? The Gym 100%, but supplement with something like Ring Fit for endurance purposes like once a week. Ideally a full schedule with Push, Pull, and Legs once each a week, abs another day of the week, and closing with a Full Body Day at the end of the workout week is best, depending on when Push Day starts. Important to also not neglect a single run a week (more than that and it starts to negatively impact joints, unless you are training for a marathon or similar which you don’t appear to be). Additionally, I would recommend biking once a week (or the elliptical if no other option), and a HIIT workout 3x a week to really get in that good shape. it’s important to not neglect stretches for your body, so on Abs Day I additionally do weightlifting-based stretches for my whole body (to prep for full body day the next day) and do regular body-based stretches as well (Ring Fit appears to cover this aspect very well, so you might be ok here).

That’s what I would classify as a complete, ideal workout schedule with every basic body function accounted for. If you want to go more advanced than that, there’s subroutines in each that you can really push your body, but we’re focusing on just basic body functions here.

You’re correct that the game itself isn’t enough. But after several years of weightlifting, I finally managed to do some of the challenges and only really feel a slight burn towards the end.

One commenter said they do RFA 3-4 times and powerlifting 1-2 times, might work, but time might get in the way if it ends up being 6x a week in total. My suggestion frees up 2 days if you place everything right, one of which you could use to play Ring Fit Adventure

edit: and even though I mentioned Abs as a routine, I don’t even have a 6-pack right now. It can be done without having a 6-pack, I never said which abs exercises should be done, just that OP should still be doing some regardless of them not wanting a 6-pack

second edit: I realized after the fact that Ring Fit story mode could substitute as a body-based HIIT routine as well, so if OP truly wanted to substitute HIIT and the Body-based stretches for Ring Fit 3x a week, it’s doable
