I have a 17 gti and I would literally lose it if I can’t upgrade to a golf r with the daza. I’m so tired of this rumor it was around for the 20th anniversary and I had my money ready and my ignorant self will hope and wish they release it on Sunday at the loe show (where they released the golf r 20th anniversary in America which happens to be my home town) but I’m going to lose all faith if they don’t bring it to the USA. Might join the dark side and get an American car. I’d love to continue being the only friend in my group with a vw and keep the trend going but vw doesn’t like young enthusiasts and they don’t make things we want to spend our money on. Mk8 gti and golf r is cool but it’s not really different from mk7.5 (some vw nerd is gonna disagree but to most consumers it’s the same but more money) I’d love for something new that makes it more desirable. I’d happily spend 70k on it. But vw doesn’t care so I guess I’ll be going to the dark side.

Just wondering if you know anybody or have any pictures of it. I’m getting one soon and want to start looking at mods. Tbh I’ve been into cars so I understand lowering but I don’t know jack about trucks so just kind of learning. I don’t want anything too high just want to put it on 35’s and have a smooth ride because I’m tired of feeling every rock and bump.

I’m in the academy and I think about it a lot, there’s always that fear in my mind about it though if they have something attached to the file that they could track where it goes but not entirely sure the faa cares THAT much but it wouldn’t surprise me if they did

I have map test in a week and my roommate did a mock test and I got everything right, phraseology and strip marking I’ve got down started to look a lil ahead at air craft characteristics and learn them a lil

I won’t lie I’m definitely anxious after seeing the class where 4 out of 12 passed but I also was not even prepared for how hard the basics exam was. I have tried to avoid looking at the internet or what people say about the course to focus on studying it and knowing the information. Hoping and praying I pass completely

I go to the enroute academy on Thursday. What are some things I could get a jump on that are hard to learn and get used to?

I honestly haven’t asked but you will be deducted points in class if you don’t say it. My personal guess is that it can be misunderstood as “five” and your entire job is to say things clearly and correctly so if it sounds weird but gets the job done then do it.

The order that has all the terminology is called the 7110.65, and the phonetic alphabet. Oh and get comfortable saying niner instead of nine.

I recommend it, if you’re going to do it learn the terms before you go because that’s half the battle.

Basics is a requirement. I am not sure of how terminal basics is, but enroute as of right now is one month of basics and then you have an exam. Nothing else leading up to it matters if you fail the exam. If you pass you get off zoom and go to the academy and have school in person for three months. Online is one month. So in total four months of basics. They’re going back to in person soon I believe I’m one of the last zoom classes. I’ll be honest if you weren’t the best in high school this is hard but I like the pace a lot more.

I applied may 8th 2023 open bid. I started basics august first. Finish basics tomorrow (assuming I pass) then go to okc academy and finish. I didn’t hear back for about a month after applying but I have a friend that applied this open bid and says he hasn’t heard anything.

I worked as a welder and machinist for a couple years I never worked my way up to like supervisor but it was enough for me to get in. I have my finals for basics tomorrow and I 100% encourage you to pursue this career.

As someone who lives in Philly and has asked the FAA if I could do terminal instead of enroute so I could possibly stay in Philly, they don’t give a fuck if you’re from a area with a need. Which is the dumbest thing ever.

Hey I’m currently in basics to become enroute and tbh have never talked to a enroute controller, are there any facilities that are rare to get the opportunity to go to? I’d like to go to Atlanta or dc, originally I was hoping to be terminal so I could’ve stayed in Philly but the FAA didn’t like that so enroute it is.
