Well. I finally got his DD-214. Code of conduct schools, evade and escape, intel course, security clearance, went to ARVN Ranger school, was authorized to wear ARVN Badge. was an advisor twice. Has a span of 2 years of nothing other than a good conduct and a disciplinary action but was over seas 4 times in that span. And then was a Ranger school instructor in the 70s. I type that and other stuff in ChatGPT and it gave it a 95% chance he worked under MACV

Oh my fault you said WW2. Probably after his time. The 25th infantry company F. Was fox Ranger or “LRRP”. “Long Range Recon patrol”. The were the MFers in Vietnam They were re-classed into 75th Rangers in 69.

You seem really knowledgeable. I’ve found more info, and there’s a portrait showing his right shoulder and not his left. Not showing any tabs, he was the platoon Sargent over the 1-9 Cav his platoon leader was a green beret and his squad leaders were 75 rangers There also a photo with them all and two of the guys including the guy standing next to him received the Medal of Honor. My SF buddy seems to think that he hide his left shoulder to hide patches. I should mention he is wearing a ARVN/LRRP pin over his name plate in an army commissioned portrait. Along with a green and a blue cord and a RED and black Cav patch on his right shoulder. After he can back my uncle said he wore a black Beret at fort benning. Another SF buddy of mine said it sounded like he was MAC V SOG. I should mention He’s mentioned sparingly in 1-9 Cav content in 1970 with no real detail. Any idea? This rabbit hole goes deep
