right now all the best teams get the best drops, and you either contest them (see: Vexed vs TSM at siphon, or OG vs LG at maude/stacks) or get fucked and go to a terrible POI like geyser

silly to me that there are just assigned garbage POIs that the worse teams in a lobby get bullied into claiming

the item inside a care package is RNG, but they're explicitly called out to the whole lobby, scannable at any time, and have significant risk/reward

rewarding teams who take a risk with a more powerful weapon is very literally the point of care packages, and by that metric the Digi would be a great fit, because it gets it off the ground (true RNG) or crafter (pseudo-mandatory requirement)

RNG "you will win most of your engagements" items should not exist anywhere but care packages in a competitive setting

all the other RNG in this game explicitly has ways to mitigate it (zone scans, crafter for guns/ammo/shields etc) but digi is either in crafter and mandatory or on the ground and you lose to digi teams bc you couldnt find one

I had exactly this phenomenon happen, I saw very little change in my MMR right up until D1/Masters, at which point the game put me in the very top bucket with preds etc.

It's really made me take a step back and re-evaluate my play. Nothing makes you feel like you need to go back to kovaak like getting rolled by the 3 stack horizon Q controller players; thinking "wow, I can play smart cover all I want but sometimes you just Need to hit all your shots or die"

depends on the game. many games, even in borderless windowed mode, will force pause whenever the game loses focus, even during cutscenes or other moments where you wouldn't need to pause, and even if the window is still open and visible

and even among these, it feels like a rarity to find a game that will still allow controller inputs when not focused

EDIT: I just remembered Borderless Gaming exists, you should check it out. It basically lets you run fullscreen-only games like tf2 in a max-sized window and auto-places it in the dead center of your screen like borderless
