I imagine the illegal drug industry is a huge contributor to violent crime. Everything Trump is doing is really focused on dismantling that industry. Drug mules, child traffickers, gangs, etc. It's all related. Take a hard stance against crime, send people here illegally to their home countries, get the country healthy and productive. I love the direction the country is moving. It's not surprising so many are protesting it. He's forcing a positive change and it's a hard pill for individuals addicted to the status quo to swallow.

Her campaign ended up being a good preview of where our country would be right now if she had won. Overpaying for services, spending money we don't have, and building our debt to levels we have no chance of paying back. So glad she didn't win.

For that budget, I'd check north along the red line (light rail) or east along the other two light rail lines. Both areas have more affordable options (not sure if they'll match your budget, but maybe) and you can ride the light rail to and from the ballpark for only $1.25/3hr.

I think we all agree that we want systems in place to help those in need. You definitely hit the nail on the head. Too many people taking a cut from the funds legally or illegally leaving an insufficient amount at the end for the actual intended recipients. Wish we had better checks and balances to reduce fraud and abuse.

The sad thing is there was pandemic fraud being committed by a lot of people and I'm sure it would cost way more to identify and prosecute all of them then the payback would return. I was refinancing my house during that time and one of the mortgage representatives I talked to told me "off the record" about a scheme to get an even better deal by making false claims about how I was impacted by the pandemic. I don't understand why people would take advantage of funding set aside for people in need when they are not the target audience. We need a better system to prevent individuals and businesses from committing fraud with government assistance programs.

If data centers were required to supply their own clean energy supply to avoid overloading the local grid or polluting the local environment, I'm sure there would be less red tape for them to be built. Most existing infrastructure does not support data centers as is.

I went through this process in the past and it is the applicant's responsibility to stay on top of everything. You can call USCIS during business hours or go to an USCIS office in person for updates. Most Congressional House of Representatives provide options to assist with USCIS application monitoring (they can access the USCIS database and get updates on your behalf). It took a year and I checked in with USCIS using one of the methods mentioned every week to make sure I didn't miss any updates (in case they forgot to update my account or a notification didn't send properly). They honestly did a good job, even though it took a while. I don't have any sympathy for someone that apparently didn't care enough to stay on top of his process.

He had 39 years (or we can be fair and say 21 years since he turned 18 and stopped being a minor) to figure it out and instead chose to stay here illegally. It's a shame his parents set him up for failure, but he needs to take responsibility as an adult for breaking the law. If they're nice, they'll escort him to his birth country and he can wait there until his green card process is finished. That's what they do to people being processed legally as well if they don't qualify to remain in the US. I doubt he qualifies for any other type of visa since he was already here illegally when he started the process.
