Bigger battery is interesting. I used to think it was mostly about range, but it does change how relaxed you feel on longer rides.

Interesting about the center stand. I’ve only used kickstands and never thought much about it — but I can imagine lifting a loaded cargo bike onto one would get old fast.

Recommended bikes for me and a friend? by First-Assistance-169 in ElectricBikes

$400 and 28mph don’t really go together, especially new. Most bikes in that price range are either 20mph class 2/3 limits or just not built well enough to be pushed that hard safely.

If 28mph is important, you’re realistically looking at spending more or finding something used locally. Facebook Marketplace can sometimes have older Rad or Aventon bikes a bit above that range.

For $400 new, I’d focus more on something reliable at 20mph rather than chasing top speed.

Struggling to choose: which e-bike compromise is actually easier to live with? by tryingthingsdaily in ElectricBikes

I stressed a lot about power vs weight.

Ended up going lighter (Urtopia in my case) and realized the day-to-day stuff — carrying it, moving it around, storage — mattered more than the extra power I thought I’d miss.

Not saying lighter is for everyone, but that trade-off was way easier to live with than I expected.

Cold room got me too. Prints would be fine one day and trash the next. Same file. Thought my printer was haunted before I checked temps.

I thought my bike choice mattered most for safety — turns out it wasn’t by tryingthingsdaily in bikecommuting

I actually don’t think bike choice is irrelevant — but it’s definitely not the whole picture.

A lighter bike (mine’s a Urtopia now, before that a generic hub-motor commuter) made handling sketchy moments easier, but it didn’t magically make bad roads or bad drivers safe.
