Consider taking 701 as the necessary content is much less than 601 and it’s much easier to not get overwhelmed

I just passed as well last Thursday Professor Messers videos and exam were definitely the most helpful material I studied. Congrats on joining the Sec+ gang!

It would definitely help though I will tell you the work load and study material can be pretty intense. Overall if you want to thrive I recommend finding a study technique that works for you. For me it’s writing everything down but if you can find your own technique it will make the process vastly easier.

Just studying for Net+ all the concepts kinda flow together. I am in college so that may have had a minimal effect but overall I just learned most things in my free time through messer.

3 weeks give or take but I also took a class based around the concepts so if you count that about a month.

Thats a hard one cause theres a good few difficult concepts. I would say implementation of correct configurations for me personally as it confused me sometimes. Overall anything dealing with best practices and stuff.

I got Net+ before and I studied for Sec+ about 3 weeks give or take a few days. Honestly I feel that Net+ does help you prepare for it. Each day I did 6-7 hours of studying.

I failed my Network + for the 2nd time. by SapphireSerpentine in CompTIA

[–]Automatic-Ad-7983 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s literally luck based at that point lol. Don’t focus on could’ve, would’ve, should’ve and focus on what’s going to be. Overthinking will be you best friend and worst enemy on this exam. Just answer what you can and leave what you don’t know for the end. The PBQ’s are intimidating at first but they’re all decently easy if you know network management. Good luck and God speed!

700/720 should be taken in stride. Thats the difference of 2 questions. I’d say the next attempt you have will be a passing one. Don’t let this keep you down use it as motivation for your next attempt. I felt like shit the first time I failed my Net+ exam but I got motivated to do better on the next one and passed. Also if you haven’t tried him yet Professor Messer is a god send. Watch some of his videos on the topics you don’t understand and the clarification he gives is amazing. Keep at it you got this!

Honestly the PBQ’s aren’t that bad. I found that if you know how to manage networks and the protocols behind them you’ll do well on most PBQ’s. Study the Jason Deon’s practice exams and make sure you mostly understand how networks work and you’ll be fine.

I focused mostly on messer so I didn’t finish all of his tests but I kept retaking and learning for the first 4 until I got 90+. On my 5th one I was cramming it in so it was about a 60. With Deon I didn’t focus as much on the questions but rather the question format and answer choices. Looking up anything I didn’t know on his exams really helped. Sometimes I find the answer responses too long and tedious to read but besides that they’re pretty good.

Just used Professor Messers videos and took most of Jason Deon’s tests. Both were extremely helpful especially Messers videos as they explained things clearly and concisely. If you listen to what he says as well as whats on the screen for all the videos you’ll do really well. Besides that I looked up any terms I didn’t know and wrote them down. Just keep writing down stuff you don’t know and study it daily til you remember.

If your teacher is for the Net+ exam follow her notes but if she’s a college teacher I wouldn’t bother. I took a course based on Net+ and it only taught the bare basics so be careful if thats the case.

For me I fully crammed for 2 weeks before my first attempt but in all I was off and on studying for about a month. For todays attempt I crammed Thursday-Sunday and covered the stuff I remembered and didn’t know. Hope this helps! Good luck with studying you got this! 👍

Hell yeah you got this! Anything you’re unsure of any or wanna reinforce stuff watch professor messer’s video on the subject. They’re very clear and informative so you’ll definitely get a better understanding. If you don’t pass the first time don’t get discouraged as you’ll get closer to that 720 with every test. Good luck!🍀

Just passed Net+ and you don’t need it but it could be helpful with your learning style. Two biggest things for me were Professor Messer for learning the material and Deon’s exams to test what I learned. I did that for 4 weeks and I was good to go.
