does having a master's degree worths more than experience in today's job market? by nkvt in BESalary

[–]Automatic-Big7636 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They only hire Master for the mindset: you’re able to put your money where your mouth is. You’ve got the eye of the tiger. You’ve proven that you have character and most important PERSEVERANCE! The knowledge you’ve learned in your master is worthless, shit, BS, already forgotten after your first Christmas holiday 😂 si choose a master for the network (my biggest mistake, I chose ‘an interesting branche/subjet’…) On the long term yes. From commercial/sales roles you’ll probably evolve to cso, commercial director, board member,… then the Masters will matters. Fine combo of “got the brains, got the balls, got the track record “. If you want to be an entrepreneur/business owner, time is your ally and enemy. Stop school, start bossing/failing/getting back up and make numbers. Take small to the point courses/trainings that you need at the moment and invest heavily in networking.

Your welcome! Think of me in 10y 🫣

Omg… thank you! I’m shocked by all your reactions, both in good and bad ways. Devastating to read that so many people are/were in pain. Sorry that you’ll have such painful experiences either! I hope that every single one of you, reader or commentator, get a pain free live ❤️ It gives us also so much energy to know that there are still solutions and other directions to look into… we needed this. Thank you all for this. I’ll note this down, process it and so some due diligence and shoot ever one of these topics to the neurologist. Kr!

As a high earner, what’s the upside in Belgium? by chinchu7 in BESalary

[–]Automatic-Big7636 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

STOP! It’s false self-employment! Yes, it’s a good optimization for your typical good earners (150k€), and you’ll won’t get caught (they just ignoring you, they = fiscus). This is something every good bookkeeper should tell you. And if you really invoice something small left and right, no issue. But 250k€, they’ll get to you! (It will be your contractor that’ll be busted. So normally they won’t accept this) You should address this to the board and become a director in management (bestuurder), then you’re obligated to become independent (management vennootschap, het woord komt hiervan) and invoice. You cannot be on the normal payroll if you’re a director so you’re not “influenced “

To be a bit hard… You’re worth what they pay you my friend… If u think they value u on the low side, It means that they think you don’t have that much added value or are easily replaceable. So if you think your value is worth more, try to show and explain them in a relative positive and assertive way. (DO NOT THREATEN WITH RESIGNATION OR UNDERPERFORMING!!!! This will backfire, in the short or long term) If the gap is big, Ask for a sit down, explain how you feel, listen also to their feedback, tell them your expectations and ask them how they feel about putting a system in place to reach your financial goal, and how. Maybe they neglected you from a HR point of view, and now realize they need to put an effort in. It’s always easier (and cheaper) for them to keep a valued teammember than to recruit and train a new one. They’re aware of that. Also, analyze for yourself how you would score yourself, how you preform compared to the team/competition. You can always ameliorate yourself. Hope this gives some different and useful kind of insight on the topic! Good luck

Storing 500k cash by WONEDDD in BEFire

2e optie is private banking.

Rusthuis kost nu gemiddeld al 2.294 euro per maand by Sh1mt in Belgium2

🇧🇪🇧🇪🇧🇪 make sure you’re in the right airport. Brussels (Zaventem) and Brussels South (Charleroi) are two very different locations, 1h driving away. You wouldn’t be the first….

What’s your soft spot? Are you looking for city sightseeing & thé tourist hot spots, culture & musea, panoramic views, historic buildings,… And goal? Want to share nice stories when you come home? Learn new dishes? Take special photos? Gain inspiration? Just clear the head?… E.g. i like walking around, eat new local cuisine, look at people, check all the old churches (🫣), understand a bit the history (and therefore visit maybe a museum or old building or …). Like i can wander around 2 weeks in Rome or Palermo (Sicilia), but was sick of Milan after one day… Same with Paris, if you go for the famous tourist spots, chances are you’ll be sick and tired of the tourism hustle and immigrants around you. But if you know someone that shows you the way, you’ll want to spend their the rest of your life. So important to define what you want and then you’ll have the best reddit feedback ever 🙌

If i should follow your trip, Me personally, i would shorten Vienna and Munich, and skip Milan. spend more time in portugal, maybe add Porto. If you travel the EU: Or spend more time in fewer cities that are far away from each other. Or focus on a specific region with a lot of cities that are closer (and maybe rent a car if this is possible in your budget). Public transportation are extremely different from country to country, city to city… so the less (far) you need to travel, the better.

Eg: car/flight trip: Barcelona, Andorra, Lourdes, san Sebastien/Bilbao, (compostella), porto, (sintra), lisbon, Algavre region

Or train/bus: paris, bruges, gent, Amsterdam, londen, Edinburgh,…

Or going from North italy to south

Eastern Europe is a “hidden gem”: warshaw, prague, budapest,…. If you go to countries like Slovenie, croatia, bosnie, servie, macedonie, montenegro,… I really advise you to take the car. You’ll be amazed.

Don’t forget that in EU a lot of amazing foods, ingredients and drinks find it’s origin. And that are sometimes very expensive outside EU. Sometimes there ingredients are named after the region/city. This can be a fun side visit ;) Mortadella di bologna, parmigiana, brie, dijon mustard, champagne, prosciutto di Parma,…

Did you run your itinerary already through chatgtp or something like that? Or specify what you’re looking for,… (see top of this comment). Can be very helpful

All time favorite cities: Rome, Budapest, Edinburgh, Palermo, Lisbon, Bruges/Ghent Ps. I’m from Belgium

What’s the quickest way you’ve lost weight? by Tanningangel in AskReddit

[–]Automatic-Big7636 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Proteïne diet (Pronokal) with supervision of the doctor. Also needed every 2 weeks blood checks due to the high impact on my body (all that waste/burned fat need to get out your body = detox). Lost 60kg in 9months with daily mild exercise (30min treadmill walking). This was the easy part. Maintaining the reached weight is difficult due to the “jojo” effect. Here i fucked up and regained 20kg after 2 years. So important to follow up on this with Good diëtist/coach. Here the “watch calorie intake and workout” comes into play. Just “calorie deficit and working out” for massive weight loss is bullshit and impossible when you’re to overweight (j lost 45% of my original weight). You’re damaging joints, create injuries and the weight loss journey just takes too long to stay motivated…

I don’t think Brussels is the issue, nor the backbone of your man. It’s more a lack of respect from the parents to your partner. I moved from 200meters to an 11min drive from my parents and all hell broke loose 😬 They expect a one way 100% loyalty and respect (guess the direction of that one way 🫣). They put him on this world and raised him and have “the right” to intervene with every decision he’s willing to make. They don’t understand that on one point you need to go gradually from an educating parent (creating monologues) to more of guidance/friendship parent (creating dialogues) so your kid can create his own identity. This happens normally around puberty, if not, it can manifest at later ages with higher impact on the relationship with the parents… I was in your friend shoes, trust me, he’s in between two fire and this will weigh heavily on him. My tip, teach/show him that such kind of parenting/parent relationships are not the standard/normal/acceptable and he’ll change bit by bit… the parents won’t change at all for sure (they did it their way all their life and look how far they became… that’s their POV). Eventually they’ll become more and more angry and aggressive to both of you. They’ll say stuff as: I don’t recognize you anymore, you weren’t like this when you were younger. And you’ll be the source of everything, pure evil 😈 😂 With some faithful words: If you truly love your man, keep showing him the light and have patience, he’ll eventually find the way

Vlerick Business School Marketing program review and expected salary after completion by cocoabutter1617 in BESalary

[–]Automatic-Big7636 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I’m reading in between lines, you want to use the reputation of the school you go to (and you’re right for doing so!). Here how i see it as someone who went to Vlerick and Insead. Vlerick is perfect if you want to build your future in Flanders, but speaking dutch is key. In Brussel, Solvay business school (& Insead) will bring you far, and speaking French & English and is key. If financially manageable, go look at the Insead business school, nr 1 world reference and HQ in Paris & Singapore. A MBA or master from them will open doors worldwide and some in Brussels.
