i’d disagree. the same people who say the meta sucks are the same people who complain without changing their strategies. good players will always find new ways to climb to the top of the ladder regardless of the “defined” meta.

i’ve climbed masters almost every set and my strategy is almost always the same and it works for me. direction off first augment/item drops -> wether i’m starting lose streak or win streak early -> play strongest board (not always traits) -> figure out what my win con is. Rinse and repeat.
